Remy ? Any chance this is true do you think ?

    @UK_TransferNews
BREAKING: Loic Remy is agreeing personal terms with Arsenal after a €19.5m late bid was accepted by Marseille #AFC

Probably bull****, but would be a decent signing.

Good aul twitter accounts trying to gain more followers. Remy agrees personal terms only to disagree on the same terms he just agreed on minutes ago.

Anyways best way to forget about this whole transfer deadline day is to beat Liverpool and get our first 3 points of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,753 ✭✭✭tony1kenobi

Well that was a big fat giant heap of sh*t.

Another 0-0 looming in Sunday. Liverpool have nobody who can score.
Sure dont they have that little fellow? He's quite good at scoring goals and racism

I feel bad for the people who buy into this deadline day crap, we did our business early and personally think we have better squad players than Dempsey or Essien as is. Roll on Sunday and actual football!

I dont buy into deadline day crap but was hoping we would sign some badly needed players,if we had a squad full of quality players already I wouldnt have paid attention to it at all, but its kinda last chance salon when you are in need of players.

Hows the squad looking numbers wise?

4 out and 3 in by my calculations, with a few being promoted from the youths we are looking pretty ok

Anyway how will we line out Sunday
I'd start kos right back and Walcott on the wing
    The rest stay the same

Id stick with Jenkinson at right back has been solid eough so far and offer us more than Kos going forward.

Knowing they have only suarez up front maybe drop mert for him

It's a shame we didn't get a few players to fill some of the gaps in the squad but i reckon we should get by.
Think Arsenal and Wenger are putting a lot of their eggs in the current Arsenal U21 squad. Few of the players i would expect to make an appearance or three this year like Gnarby, Eisfield and Aneke. Even Hector Bellerin at RB seems to be making inroads.
And until our debts are paid off we should probably look no further than the players playing in the U21 league.

I dont know why i bothered checking my sky sports app on my phone for news of any potential signings all day today with no new signings. I thought we would of definitely signed at least one more player but it wasnt to be in the end.

    Is Szczesny back?

    Jenkinson - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Gibbs
    Arteta
    Cazorla --- Ramsey/Diaby
    - Chamberlain
    Podolski
    Giroud

Gervinho was poor last week so drops to the bench. If Chamberlain is fit, he's in. If not, Walcott is. Gervinho on for Podolski in the second half. He seems to play better on the left. If Carroll was still there, I'd play Mertesacker but since he is gone Koscielny is back in. Barring injuries, the only question mark for me again this week is Ramsey or Diaby.

What is the arsenal debt situation?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

I think if Kos is fit he should start Sunday, hes top notch at marking the tricky players like Suarez, sure one of his best games I ever seen him play was against Messi and Co. against Barcelona.

Agree with the comment that if Santi gets injured we are truely ****ed, surely we cant rely on Ramsey to make things happen in the hole he just hasnt bought me over yet that hes good enough for us.

We are now in a position to eradicate third world debt.

Completely disagree that we are badly in need of players.

The only area that we are lacking in is centre forward and we have players that can deputise there if Giroud happens to be out of action, not ideal but I'm not sure who we'd have brought in to act as backup for Giroud tbh.

The only other areas that we are light in is centre back and full back and these would be the 2nd and 3rd choice positions and will only come into play in a worst case scenario which we've already been through last season and would be unlikely to go through again imo.

The whole transfer window was a big meh for us. Fair enough we got an exciting signing in Cazorla. We are now relying on Giroud and Podolski to score the majority of our goals, which is a huge gamble as its not a certainty that they will settle.

Im all for giving our younger players a shot in the first team such as Gnarby, Eisfeld, Coquelin etc, but they arent ready now. We effectively have to wait around whilst they develop and then guess what? They move onto pastures a new once they become the players we wanted. A top 4 spot and maybe a run in the cups is probably the best we can hope for at this current moment. And that is depressing only two matches into the season.

Well we couldn't keep RvP so what other option did we have but to buy new strikers and hope that they can score our goals? Every player needs time to settle and gel with a new team, we could have spent €30m on a striker today and he'd still need time to settle.

I think Coquelin is ready to step up. He has never let us down whenever he's played. But I agree top 4 is all we can hope for. I really thought things had changed by the very early capture of Podolski and Giroud - then Cazorla too. It also looked like we were dead certs to get M'Vila and Sahin. It's all turned pretty sour now compared to how things looked to be going a couple of weeks ago. Anyway I'm remaining positive - a win on Sunday though and things will begin to look up again

Bet that tea lady is looking pretty sweet now

On another note funny how Michael Owens selfish i won't go anywhere outside of the premiership stance has worked out so well for him :)

Heres hoping we can rob liverpool of 3 points at anfield like last year :)

I reckon Suarez would rip Mertesacker apart so probably best drop him. Otherwise I cant see us losing or drawing against Pool.

Most disappointing conclusion based on players in and players out that I can remember.
