I believe we will sign Essien on loan, and he will do a better job than Song, because he will stay in his position.
    Awaits the Song fan backlash........

I think it could make us more comfortable in attack, and that can only be a good thing right now.

Come on Arsene make it happen.

All joking aside I would love to have Essien here. The man could find a bit of form with regular game time. Wenger knows what he is doing.

Yes he's past his best but still only 30. If he plays a more limited, controlled role than we were used to seeing when he was in his prime, he could prove to be a good addition to the squad.

That would be a ****load of midfielders and 4 of them could do a good job defending from midfield.
Essien can hit them from range too.

I always remember that goal from that game, took balls to hit that from there.
I think Wenger would get the best out of him, some players haven't had the fortune of having Wenger coaching them, Essien has had what? 7 different managers over the years at the same club?
    Can't be good for him.

He was a colossal player in his prime, I was always afraid when I saw him on the team sheet when we played chelski. If we could just get him sparked up again, and in a more reserved role like greendom was saying he could be very effective.

As I said I think Wenger would get the best out of him and would encourage him to boss the midfield, getting involved in breaking up play and he certainly won't be afraid of going to meet the ball as Diaby has been accused of doing lately.

Me - We will sign 2 maybe 3 players
    Everyone else - no chance
Me - wait and see we will

    How full of sh*t was I :)

Well Wenger did break from the norm and sign experienced players really early on, so everyone take a deep breath, and just imagine Wenger signed all 3 of them today, we wouldn't be too upset with that.

4 hours to sign anyone.... Getting a bit nervous now.

We will be fine I'm sure top 4 again, but I'm convinced add 2/3 players to this squad we might challenge
    Its always sideward we move

How long left has Bendtner left on his contract? At this stage we should really be looking to off load him.

At least he doesn't have to be looked at this season in an Arsenal shirt.

    2013 afaik.
If we don't sell him before the start of next season, we will let him go on the cheap I reckon, like 3mil or so.

For some reason I like him - Not the greatest player and very cocky but he has a bit of a cult status.

I don't mind him either, just sub-par the majority of the time. He was spouting sh*t that he wanted to leave this summer and not play for Arsenal so it's a case of on your bike son.

He has the confidence of Messi with the reliability of Francis Jeffers.
We can't put all our faith in a players Ego, Bendy had his chances under Wenger and never really took it, apart from talking his ability up.

I don't know what to think about Essien. Couple of years ago and he would have been absolutely unbelievable but now...

Our midfield is far too reliant on players who are either injured or injury prone.

i'm into beer number 2 (spaten - delish) and there are no rumors even to get me going! Sky just said Arsenal won't move for essien! I've flipped my opinion and would like to give him a shot.

    COME ON ARSENAL DO SOMETHING!

I wont hold my breathe if I were you, like RVP11 said earlier on we should just subconsciously pretend that we signed Poldoski, Carzola and Giroud today. Although if that was the case, with the exit of RVP and Song we would have lost our first two matches.

DiMatteo said Essien can go on loan but not to Arsenal.

    What a cock.

Di Matteo saying he wont let Essien join Arsenal. Imagine not letting one of your players join your rivals! All the cool clubs are doing it. What do you mean its just Arsenal...

That's good in a way. He must see us as a danger to Chelsea.

what a dick - but i can see his point :D

I think we're done in the Transfer Window.

bugger. 41 million received in transfer fees and less spent. Wage bill reduced. Ivan will be happy.

Makes sense tbf. Why sell/loan to a rival? Unless you are us of course, then you do whatever the fcuk you want for money.

There's enough material in the **** bank for him to last until January at least.
