Our owners admiration for the Arsenal model.

Jeez the owners really have gone all-in with Rodgers.

It feels like a game of poker at the moment and if the last two cards/signings don't flip favorably then I hope the owners have some serious cash to pay back in.

This shouldn't be like this. Not for a club that has secured the commercial backing that we have over the past 18months.

It's very worrying if some of these deals are true.

Will have to wait and see i suppose. For me, Rodgers has shown nothing but a blindspot for Andy Carroll. I really cant fathom a situation where he was let go and not a 100% concrete deal in place for someone else.

It's pathetic seeing the reactions in here but expected from the usual crowd. How about waiting until tonight to slate the owners/manager/kitman/team bus driver?

    Replacement for Carroll?

Up early, too excited to sleep. Final day of the transfer window and I'm likely to play a part in it!

That doesn't mean they are going to try to replicate it completely. Maybe they will improve it. Nobody knows yet.

Right, that's twice recently. Dont jinx us! !

Would prefer if Spearing, Carroll, Cole and Adam were sold and the money used to buy a winger and a forward. This loan sh*t is just delaying the inevitable.

Its funny some peoples reaction to Carroll leaving.....its like we lost Torres again......the guy is one of the biggest big money flops of EPL history, dress it up what ever way you want....he was terrible for us overall....he wont fit with how we play, the manager doesnt want him etc etc

What i do agree with though is he needs to be replaced properly, if a top quality striker isn't acquired Rodgers will be very very sorry IMO (by top quality i dont mean Daniel Sturridge......)

The man's a liability. He corners too fast, and guess what mister, we don't ALL want to listen to Nial Diamond...

It's not the losing Carroll exactly that I'm worried with, it's the non existance of a goalscorer in the squad which is essentially your 2nd point.

Personally I'd have liked to see Carroll get a chance under Rodgers but fans are split on that and no point having that argument again. I think he'll do well at the Hammers.

Anyway, we need two forwards in today or we're in trouble.

Also, we can't lose any more players, especially our top ones.

While on the one hand its super that Sterling has been given his chance, and he is taking it very well, on the other hand its hard not to feel desperately sorry for Suso.

Himself and Sterling were clearly our two young stars over the last year or two. Very hard to separate them, but Suso finds himself still training and playing (and scoring goals) with the reserves/youths while his mate is playing for the first team against the champions. Be difficult not to feel a bit of jealousy and a bit hard done by. Then LFC buy a new young striker, and he's pictured on the website wearing number 30 - Suso's squad number!

I really hope someone is talking to him and looking after him. Be a shame to lose such a talent.

Liverpool wanna hope the dont get a string of injuries. Looking a bit threadbare at the minute.
Fans need to make a new chant about warming up before running.

Adam has been seen at Stoke, so am assuming that will happen.

So that and the Carroll loan fee must be enough to do Dempsey...

Would be gutted if we used Henderson as a makeweight in any deal. That fella has serious promise, and will be a very good player. I won't be happy if that happens, better wait till the end of day

Everywhere is reporting we don't have a penny to spend and the best we can hope for is Sturridge on loan. Hope we're playing more chess.

Maybe its blind loyalty but I kind of feel sorry for some of the guys that came to Liverpoool in good faith under the previous regime and they are now been floggged or loaned to whoever:D.

Rodgers talks about needing to add numbers to his squad and hopefully that happens but I would be happier if those people were in place first.

Is Michael Essien over the hill, or too injury prone or something. Bbc paper talk reporting Arsenal want him. I always thought he was a fabulous player and would love him at Liverpool.

I'm awful sad to see Andy go for the season. I wanted to see how he'd do for us, but even us Carroll hopefulls have to admit, there's a fairly huge chance he'd do feck all for us.

Part of me admires Rodgers' cut throat approach to telling players they won't be needed, but I just hope he gets it right.
Glad to see him gone but not in a bad way tho. He did do very little in his time here and would continue to do so until he was first choice and we played a more direct style to suit him, but we dont. It would be a shame and unfair to keep throwing him from the bench when he is clearly a good young player who needs game time to progress. Hope he does well there and we can either get a good price for him next summer or he vastly improves overall game and somehow fits the team..

This transfer depends soley on today, if we bring in a quality replacement then I've no complaints.

Very hard to separate them, but Suso finds himself still training and playing (and scoring goals) with the reserves/youths while his mate is playing for the first team against the champions.

To be fair, he was away with Spain a good bit recently I think. But the position he plays in, it's going to be harder to make the breakthrough. And Raheem has more unique gifts.
Then LFC buy a new young striker, and he's pictured on the website wearing number 30 - Suso's squad number!

Maybe he's getting Adam or Spearing's number..

I wonder how much of that Henderson story was fed to the media to make clubs aware we're open to letting him go. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sold outright today.

Injuries . Last year or two he played very few games.

I can't see that happening. Maybe that's what Fulham asked for. But with Adam and Spearing out, and Lucas injured, we only have Allen, Sahin, Shelvey, Henderson and Gerrard. Rodgers has already said it's out most important part of the pitch. I can't see him sacrificing another CM...
