Rodgers said in the interview we have a player lined up. Are you going to listen to him, or to some numpty on Twatter?
Yup some numpty like Tony Barrett who pretty much gets everything spot on in regards to LFC.

This is like a bad ****ing joke.

If we've let Carroll go without a proper striker lined up, we need our ****ing heads examined.

We need two attacking players, one of whom is Carrolls replacement. Dempsey was always on the cards to fill a void that was compounded by the loss of Bellamy, Maxi & Kuyt. We've now less than 24 hrs to do it, yet it appears we're scarpering around trying to arrange another loan deal.

We've done that before signing Dempsey.

    Tony Barrett

Liverpool reduced to trying to take Sturridge on loan after attempted swap deal for Dempsey fails

I'd say there'll be twists and turns tomorrow so I'd take that with a pinch of salt, can change quickly. Would be very disappointing if that is the case, Sturridge is risky, I think he'll score 10-15 goals for the season no bother but not exactly what we are looking for.

This is probably complete nonsense, but I have heard a rumour that Michael Owen may be returning on a pay as you play basis.

Are you for real? He was one of the main instigators of Agger to Man City. A week later, Agger returns for pre-season with Liverpool ink on his arms, completely oblivious to any kind of move :pac:

To be honest, I'd take Barretts word over his at this current moment.

See previous comments relating to Andy Carroll loan deals. Transfer windows are seemingly all about smoke & mirrors for managers. Silly posturing.

If we have Dempsey lined up. Great, striker still needed. And needed badly.

What an extraordinary re-writing of history.

Barrett ran the story that the club were willing to sell Agger, nothing to do with the player wanting a move. And by all accounts that seems to have been the case.

Barrett is a numpty he doesn't have a remote clue on what is going on at the club now . A few years ago he would have had a good bit of insider knowlegde but that has all dried up .

Tony Barrett ‏@TonyBarretTimes Daniel Agger's agent quoted as saying Agger isn't injured and says his omission from #LFC squad is down to the manager and club. Interesting

I suppose next thing you will tell me that Agger's agent was posturing for a move without even telling his client. :pac:

I really hope you're right because if Barrett is right then it speaks to a staggering lack of incompetency within the club.

Barrett is now saying we tried to swap Henderson for Dempsey but Henderson refused. He has to be fos surely.

Em....he wasn't injured? And his omission was down to the manager & the club? The manager all but said outright that if a decent offer came in, we might sell. At a time when the richest club in the world were hovering around him. By most accounts it was the players happiness at Liverpool & City not meeting the asking price that stopped any move.

It's not a dig, it's saying that you just posted some random piece of gossip as well. You didn't post any source for it, but whether it's twitter, website, or from the granny of a friends mates sister who works in the Anfield cafeteria, it's still a random rumour. It could be good info, but there is no way to know that from your post, although you never claimed it to be good info obviously.

I would say tomorrows target has been on the radar all summer and we finally know we are getting the player in . Why else would they consider letting Andy go only to have no one to come in .

On the whole Barrett/Dempsey thing, it was only last week that he said that Liverpool were no longer interested in the player.
