people on bbc freaking about reina. calling him a weak link.

imo hes anything but. One of the best in the prem.

Dead right. On a similar note, I wonder if those miners in Chile will make it out alive.

Just saw the news about Carroll. Very surprised that he agreed to go to London, even on loan.

Reckon Rodgers must think he is close to signing at least one more player tomorrow.

and Skrtel made two the week before as well.

A couple of mistakes over a week is one thing.

Skrtel's though was two bad back passes and not clearing.

Reina has over a sustained period of at least a year been missing crosses, not covering angles as good and tonight fumbled an easy ball when under no pressure.

Trouble is, its not one rare mistake anymore. Over the last 3/4 seasons, those mistakes have been adding up.

You can forgive the odd mistake so long as he redeems himself with a bunch of match saving saves. Last year, he hardly saved a thing.

Reina is a worry it's the sign of a good keeper that when doing nothing all game still produces the save when needed.
It wasn't even a hard save the ball was straight at him. For me it's a complete lack of concentration which isn't acceptable

Question: I know it's not his main position but could Dempsey be an effective out and out striker?

Yea because it'd be sky high after sitting on our bench for the year...

Actually, I think his value would stay higher if he sat on our bench for a year than him failing at west ham.

At least when he's a bench warmer, he's just viewed as talent that doesn't fit in with that system, but failing in an Allardyce team that should suit him, for a season, could only lead to him being completely written off as a once season wonder.

Either way, while the above point is entirely subjective, it's certainly a piss poor piece of business from Liverpool not to have a stipulation to buy at the end of the loan.

We need a lazy facker that just plays on the shoulder of the last man and simply kicks the ball into the net.

Suarez has to nutmeg a player 5 times before putting the ball in the net. Great finish for the goal tonight though, but should have got 2 or 3.

Brendan Rodgers after the Hearts game:
"We will replace Andy, we've got a number of targets, we hope to conclude them tomorrow"

I'm assuming the deal can now go through as Nolan has finally agreed to give up his spare room again.

Yep, Roberto Llorente, a promising 17 year old from Malaga ;)

Hopefully we will sign someone tomorrow, but I can't see it being outside of Dempsey, Sturridge or Walcott (in order of likelyhood), although a leftfield signing of a decent European player would be nice. I'm not expecting a Llorente or Huntelaar level striker though at all.

    Also on Carroll :
"He and I spoke, he wants to play. For us at this moment in time we are not in the position to have a 35m player on the bench. Andy has made it clear to me he hasn't played as regular as he wanted, I couldn't guarantee that here."

What's this young buck from Leverkusen like Mr. Kess??

He wont fail at west ham though. He is better than Carlton Cole, so should be in ahead of him. As the main man who plays every game, he will score goals.

He isn't a top 4 player, and never will be. The fee was a newcastle master stroke. But he is a decent player and you will have no problem selling him next summer.

Throught for a long time now that Berbatov would have been perfect. Obviously never going to happen, but still.

Never seen him play. All I know about him is what I have read. Meant to have loads of potential by all accounts, but we have been down the road of "he has loads of potential" a hell of a lot so won't be holding my breath.

If we spend 35m on Danny Graham I'm closing my boards account.

In fact, if we even spend 5m on Danny Graham, I'm closing my boards account.

Yeah, not really an option though as you say. I don't think there's many that fit the criteria in the PL.

Sturridge wouldn't be a bad signing, I wonder if Chelsea would be interested in a season long loan or if it's only us that offer such deals.

It looks like we are getting Sturridge on loan

Got the fire insurance on the car sorted too.;)

Can we call Andy back if it looks like we won't sign anyone tomorrow.....or worse case scenario if it looks like we might sign Sturridge?

I am cancelling ALL my meetings tomorrow. I will make the conference calls cause that doesn't impact my F5-ability...
