    What a bull**** decision.

What would you have done? Play him? Use him off the bench? Sell him even though they weren't getting close to the right price?

    Great news.

We have two recognised strikesr now, and Suarez isn't really a striker and Borini is unknown

If he's replaced fair enough, but until then it's hardly brilliant news to cut the squad down to the wire.

Glad to see Carrol move. As others have said he needs gametime. I wish the lad all the best and I hope he's the reason WHU stay up this year and gets himself a permanent move.

Hope we see some action tomorrow in the market as we're short a striker (or 2) and this new German lad sees himself as a year or two away from being ready for the 1st team.

    I think that's fairly skewed.

As of right now we have 2 strikers, Borini and Suarez.

We're not playing with 1 out and out number 9, so to suggest as much is disingenuous.

Good luck to him, I hope he bangs in the goals and shoves it down Rodgers neck.

So West Ham say there is an undisclosed fee involved .

I will reserve judgment until 26hrs time.

Remember Mr. Leiva how I told you Carroll would be a good each way bet for top goal scorer at 25/1 ;)

    Watch this space.

Yes I would have benched him, because it would have been nice to have such an option on the bench if Plan A wasn't working. I couldn't give a fcuk if he did cost £35m and if Rodgers saw him as a luxury he couldn't afford, he still had his uses to this club.

Whats the odds on liverpool paying through the roof for a striker late on tomorrow night?. Will all fees for players go up now knowing they need a replacement.

Yeah but we need a guy who will put the ball in the net regularly. Hopefully someone is lined up tomorrow

Scoring the goals will be enough, No need to get sexual

We are most definitely 2 strikers short now and in my view Morgan is not one of those.

Not impressed I have to say by letting Carroll go but I will reserve judgement until we see what happens tomorrow.

I think we'll get Dempsey for sure, who isn't a proper striker but would certainly be a good addition.

However, a striker is needed on top of that.

Yesil: Hyypia told me about LFC

New signing Samed Yesil today revealed how Anfield legend Sami Hyypia played a big role in his move to Liverpool - and spoke of his determination to earn a first-team place over the coming years.

The 18-year-old, who will bolster the club's youth ranks, spoke to Liverpoolfc.com after passing a medical on Thursday.

He arrives from Bayer Leverkusen, a club now managed by Hyypia.

And Yesil revealed: "I am really happy about this, it is my dream to play for Liverpool and I will give my all.

"I spoke with Sami Hyypia, he helped me. He told me very important things about Liverpool, the quality of Liverpool and the quality of life here, and how famous the club is."

The striker has an impressive scoring record at youth level, with 22 goals in 26 appearances for his country at U16, U17 and U18 level.

As well as the six he bagged at the U17 World Cup, Yesil was on target three times at the U17 European Championship in May 2011 and was selected in the squad of the tournament by UEFA.

However, he accepts he has a lot to learn before he becomes a first-team regular at Anfield.

"I have spoken with the manager," he said. "The first thing is that I have to train and then in one or two years I hope, step by step, to be in the first team.

"I have to take my chances in training.

"I will work hard here. I have read how the manager here will make a team that is young and that makes many passes, and I think I can be the right player for this.

"I am a goal getter, but it is important that I improve physically on my body because the Premier League is a hard league."

Though his family are Turkish, the new Reds youngster was born in Dusseldorf, Germany.

He speaks some English but will take lessons to become fluent. In the meantime, his English-speaking cousin will be around to lend a hand.

Yesil explained: "I must learn the language, but I am here to learn the language and football in England. It is not so easy, but I hope my qualities will help me make it.

"My family are very happy for me. My cousin is here with me and he will help me for the first six months or one year."

I ****ing hate options to buy. If it's not an enforced option it makes no ****ing sense. We're the only club that seems to negotiate these bloody deals. What is the point?

Maybe loaning Carroll was a cunning plan to get a decent striker on the cheap as everyone will know we don't have any money to spend. Genius!!

I reckon the £17mil deal is still in place but undisclosed at our request so we don't get raped making a purchase tomorrow .

    Well that's what I hope :o

How do we know that? Rodgers might have been working away on bringing in someone all along, just needed the shift Carroll out first.
