This situation has been handled very, very poorly.

the manager is on top of that

july 20th "If a club spends £35m on a player, you would expect that player to be able to fit into whatever style a manager will bring in. There is talk of him going on loan, but there is absolutely no way I would be looking to loan a player like that, especially after the investment the club have paid."

august 23 "There is absolutely no chance [of a loan deal] - and certainly not Newcastle"

back to four defenders on the bench tonight. Why can't he put Pacheco on there instead of Enrique? Agger/Johnson could play LB if Downing is injured but having 4 on the bench is ludicrous. One of my criticisms of Kenny last season too.

Straight talking Brendan. His word is his bond.

If you have Sky Sports, then head over to the Sky Go website and you can watch the game from there on ESPN with no restrictions

    :)

I think Carroll fancies his chances of Rodgers not being there next season, and it is a good bet imo

    From Guardian Match Cast thingy...
Brendan Rodgers has been on to confirm that Big Andy is down at Big Sam's getting measured up. "The club made a MONUMENTAL [dramatic pause so cynics can take the sentence off in their own direction] investment in Andy," he begins, before explaining that such a player can't fester on the bench, especially as he really wants to be out there getting involved. An honest answer, though you can't help thinking he was very, very close to one hell of a Freudian slip there.

Bit harsh to be fair, it was a bit more subtle than the usual sh*t he tries.

Try to keep the head in the sand but if Andy scores 20 goals and Liverpool clearly lack someone to put the ball in the net it will be one man's fault.

I'd suggest you lot go look at Clint Dempsey's goal scoring record too

Carroll scoring goals for Allardyce wouldn't mean he would have scored those goals for Rodgers.

And how would you compare that constant improvement to Andy Carroll?

    From West Ham's site
West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of England striker Andy Carroll on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old has moved to the Boleyn Ground from Liverpool for the remainder of the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League campaign, with the Hammers having the option to complete a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee next summer.

    Link.
