Considering we have to sell to buy, which is fair enough I guess, getting rid of Carroll on loan only means that we have Borini, Morgan, and this new Turkish lad as the CF players at the club? Excellent.

    Ben Smith
#WHUFC will cover Carroll's wages - all of them. And #LFC will get a £1m loan fee.

    WTF is this ****?

The pessimist in me says we had Dempsey/Walcott or similar lined up if we sold Carroll, with this new German lad as a cheaper option if we only loaned him.

He's a front player, hardly a CF though.

    The plot thickens.

£1m!!!! We couldn't get a paralympic footballer with that.

Carroll will go in last minute . Pool will take best offer on table.
I cant see anyone paying over ten mil for him .

Rodgers wont let him go for under 10m
He will be loaned out so . I honestly cant see west ham paying 17 mil for him. Where is this figure coming from .

Hopefully we didn't include the 'can't play against your parent club' in the deal. I'd be confident of Andy not sticking one in against us.

I used to like reading your posts until you became obsessed with Lloyd. Change the record ffs.

Not at all, i just know what to expect from him at this stage. He'll come in all guns blazing, a few people will agree, he'll get called on his bull and vanish off into the sunset for another few days without replying.

That's mandated by the FA, I believe!

It wouldn't be a proper transfer window if we didn't give all the other clubs a good laugh at some point.

Just backed Morgan and 3 nil on pp.. 25's, worth 2.50 of my hard earned. Another 2.50 went on the Europa league lucky dip 15 team accumulator :D

No option to buy at the end of it?

I agree 100% if we are loaning him out with no enforced option to buy, my point was he'll come in giving out about it before the window closes.

Say we had £25m to spend on 1 player. Which player would be the funniest waste of money that we could spend it on? Sorry, just bored waiting for the game to start...

Dirk Kuyt, 6 goals in 6 games, surely worth €25m

This is King Kenny's fault. He's the one who agreed to the signing of a 35 million pound battering ram. Comolli might of played a part but the buck stops with the manager.

    Guardian reporting it now too.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/30/andy-carroll-west-ham-united-liverpool?CMP=twt_gu
The newly promoted club had initially offered Liverpool a £2m loan fee plus a guaranteed £17m should they avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. They are also prepared to pay all of Carroll's £80,000-a-week wage. The deal now under discussion is for a £1.5m loan fee with an option to buy the forward next summer, not a guarantee.

Liverpool's acceptance of the revised offer underlines their desire to part company with their record transfer, even if, for now, that only extends to the loan fee and taking his wage bill off the club's books.
