Good deal if it goes through

Best deal we're gonna get, this season or next. Hope it goes through, and that we're left with enough time to get a decent replacement

Word is that Carroll having medical at West Ham, ahead of a loan deal.

I do wonder is this all a clever rouse to tempt Newcastle into making a proper offer asap.

I disagree, we have been burned enough on loan deals in the past. If West Ham dont stay up, we get Andy back next summer and he is worth a lot less than 17m.

If he scores plenty of goals he may well be worth more

    As expected.

Reina; Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Downing; Allen, Henderson, Shelvey; Gerrard, Suarez, Morgan

Yeah but there was no enforced purchase option in those deals. He's worth a lot less than £17m now. He's a £12m player at best. It's a risk worth taking imo.

Thing is that I reckon he'll do quite well at West Ham (maybe 10-15 goals), so even if they go down he'll still be worth a fair bit. Definitely worth more than if he sits on our bench for a year.

If he is any use there we will get 10 for him at least I'd say. We would not get any more for him today. We also make 7 million in the next 12 months through loan fee and wages saved

Really hope it's Gerrard or Shelvey up top, not Henderson.

Llorente would be a brilliant replacement if we could get him, fantastic player not the quickest but is good on the deck and in the air and knows how to finish.

I like the look of that front 3, Gerrard on the right with Suarez on the left and Morgan through the middle. I can see him scoring tonight.

Id have Henderson sitting and Allen in his best position. Good game to try it in

Reasonable suggestion. Doubt it'll happen though.

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is in London to finalise a season-long loan move to West Ham. No commitment to buy.

We'll have to see what it means in the grand scheme.

Perhaps the yanks said "at the very least get £x off the wage bill and we'll release more money for players".

It's reaching a fair bit though. I can't see how it'll do us good in the long term.

Shocking, makes no sense whatsoever. Unless they are paying us an insane loan fee.

If we sign a quality replacement it isn't. I'm sure we wouldn't let him go.without someone lined up

Also Carroll could score 20 goals there this season and his value could rise.

Hopefully an attempt to get Newcastle to bid...

Thats the positive and not to go too "Lloyd" on it but he could have a terrible season, score 3 goals while West Ham get relegated and he is back to us next May.

Wonder whats the thinking of loaning him to west ham without the commitment to buy

Were the other options i.e. a permanent to move to newcastle not forthcoming or was the offer too low

Or did Carroll only agree to a year loan away

It won't be, the deal that has been offered is supposedly the same as before. £3m loan fee plus wages and a further £17m enforced purchase option if they stay up this season.

Ben Smith says he's there finalising loan. No commitment to buy.

As predicted, we're being ****ing raped. Virtually everyone agreed earlier in the summer if a scenario like this came to pass it'd be retarded. Let's watch people change their mind now

Stupid deal unless it sees a genuine top quality player coming in.

    True.

but has anyone bid for him outright yet?

Yeah I don't get it. The only stumbling block before was that Carroll didn't want to go to West Ham. If he's changed his mind why would the old deal suddenly change?

SSN ticker says it's 'with a view to a permanent move', whatever that means.

Id imagine someone at the club is leaking all this to try and entice Newcastle with a money up front bid.

#WHUFC will cover Carroll's wages - all of them. And #LFC will get a £1m loan fee.

    The plot thickens.

Probably didn't want to go permanently.
