We don't have van Persie anymore to win it.

Yep one goal should win it for us, I'd even give Carra a run out in this one.:pac:

As the Sahin thing unfolded, he was ahead most of the time. So either he has good sources, or follows someone else on Twitter that I haven't spotted...

No most of them pull information from following people on forums who they know get information and then tweet it. For instance this morning some guy on rawk said he had cleared his source with the mod and that we're trying to sign an unknown striker. Below is what the guy posted this morning, obviously this is the fellow Barret just tweeted we signed.
He is a forward and but is not the finished article he's someone breaking through at the moment and is not going to cost a lot of money and is not someone who will be a starter going into the team. Genuinely has the potential to be a proper poacher.

The mole a couple of minutes after this post tweeted we were after a young striker but didn't know the name. Someone then posted they had heard his name was " " and the mole then tweeted he had been informed the player was :P He knows jack ****.

Liverpool are set to sign Samed Yesil, an 18 year old forward, from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee in the region of £1 million.

Not bad for £1m. Could be a future prospect all right :)

Well the information has turned out to be completely on the money. The noise to signal ratio is extremely high but if you know who to look out for the forum has lots of people who get good information.

Have a feeling that a lot of Arsenal fans are not going to be happy at the final whistle if Liverpool play like they did against City.

Plus there is the added threat to Arsenal in that I will be back home for the game, so that is worth a goal start in itself. :pac:

Good piece on him here - http://www.sabotagetimes.com/football-sport/samed-yesil-can-be-arsenals-goal-machine-for-the-next-decade/

Got 23 goals in 20 games for Bayer Leverkusen’s U-19 side last season.

Can we just fool Leverkusen into selling us Schurrle instead?

Apparently Leverkusen fans are spitting with rage that one of their best prospects has left for a song. I like it!

Hamburg fan Oatesy23 reckons Yesil's a very, very good prospect.

Bit surprised Bayer have sold him, he was tipped to succeed Kiessling. But I suppose €1.3m is a good price for an 18 year old.

Scored 19 in 23 last season for the U-19s and moved up to Bayer II this season.

    Posted on Summer Transfer thread.

Yeah looks like it was posted last summer. So that means he got 23 in 20 two seasons ago and got 19 in 23 last season for the U19 side, wow!

Signing prospects is good and all, but hardly one to solve our goal problems for the season ahead.

I wonder will this lad pip Carroll for a place on the bench? I mean, he is older than Sterling and already in the Leverkusen senior team for this season.

Sunderland now in strong for Dempsey.

Are these the little deals we envy Newcastle and Swansea have the clout to land? Maybe.

Named as one of the ten most promising teenagers in Germany in this article: http://footballspeak.com/post/2012/02/17/10-to-watch-The-most-promising-teenagers.aspx

Samed Yesil could be considered as something like the dark horse (a very fast one!) on our illustrious list as he still has to make his Bundesliga debut. But his breathtaking performances at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup showed what we can expect from him in the near future: 165 pounds of pure beast that can terrorise a whole defense on their own.

You are right. Sign no kids, proven players only. That'll probably work out well... ;)

We have been doing both, let's be fair -

    Allen - Now
    Assaidi - Now/Later
    Borini - Now
Sahin - Now and hopefully later!

Haven't they just spent £12 million on Steven Fletcher? Bizarre...

Granero on his way to QPR, and Kjaer linked. Smart moves, there. Their squad looks all over the place, though.

Looks like Jay has gone to Bolton on loan. Guess it makes sense to be able to recall him after Lucas got injured.

Apparently Mike Ashley has directly intervened in the battle for Andy Carroll's signature. He has just sent a helicopter to Anfield to bring the man to the Sports Direct Arena in order to guarantee his signature by the deadline.

@fussta: @TonyBarretTimes it seems indeed low, Yesil is rated as the most exciting striker prospect of the U15 - U20 age groups in Germany.

If he's just breaking into the Bayer team then he'd hardly want to join lfc to go into the reserves. We could have a huge amount of games this season with europa so if he's decent he should get a shot in the senior team along with Morgan.

I'd wager the deal is structured like most of our youth deals with huge add ons if the player reaches certain targets. We signed Raheem for 800k but he will end up costing us in the region of £5m if he fulfils most of the clauses.

Can just see Mark Hughes and Tony Fernandes huddled over a PC running Football Manager 2008 and giggling like a couple of school kids. Meanwhile, Portsmouth are about to disappear from existence.

Loftus Road holds less than 19000.

Which is a ridiculous win for us, but that's what big clubs do!

I would be surprised if Sami actually recommende him, why would he want to lose him? It's not as if they are a feeder club, he has their future to think about...
