    Jenkinson a 4.5

Bleacher Report - I used to run the Arsenal community there about 2 years, left because it became less and less about content and more and more about getting reads for the advertisers.

Spreading 300 words over 10 seperate pages is enough to put me off a site. :pac:

Those are the articles encouraged there - all this "Top 10" muck. I did too many of them there for a finish so just left the site. I like to think I did one or two goods one though ha ha

On one hand he says Arteta can fill the DM role and it looks like he is, then he also says he looked lost when Cazorla was going forward, he needs to get involved more.
    He is contradicting himself.
If you are a holding midfielder cutting out attacks and distributing the ball to the more attack minded around you, you cannot get involved anymore.:)

So - seen as there are only 4 days left - are we expecting anyone new to come in?

Only a quality DM if we find one.
That's what Arsene says, I think not after what we have seen from the team.
He may feel they can cope until January at least.
I hope I'm wrong because we could do with another addition.

Yes 2 signings at a minimum

He's made that assumption before and it hasn't come off. I reckon we will see an acquisition in midfield - most likely a loan deal. Wilshere won't be back until the end of October at the soonest (am I right?) and he'll be eased back in, and we can't assume Rosicky and Diaby will stay fit.

Midfielder and a defender that can play RB or CB i reckon.
Hopefully a new striker to replace Chamakh if he leaves.

That may be the case but Arsene can be stubborn at times and I don't think he holds it as a priority, if one good deal comes up, loan or permanent, he will jump on it.
    Fingers crossed.
Wilshere will be out until mid late October at least, who knows that could grow too.
Rosicky has reached an age where I don't think his fitness will be reliable anymore, but he can do a job in AM, so I'm sure he will be like a new signing, eventually:)
Remember arsene has repeatedly said, we have plenty of midfielders.
    Bad sign.

We should sign Berbatov, could prolly get him for 5 million or so. Be a grand player to bring on if we needed something different up front. He may have his problems but he scores goals.

Of course a lot will depend on whether Bendtner, Chamakh, Arshavin and Park are moved on.

He's a bit of an Ibrahimovic - really good when he wants to be, a pain in the arse when he couldn't be bothered to even run.

Well it looks like M'vila will go to Spurs anyway so we can rule him out.
They seem to again be interested in Tiote but i can't see Newcastle letting him go. I don't know who's available on loan but that seems to be where we'll get someone. We do need a holding midfielder because we will get injuries and Wilshere will be eased back only if he's right and that might be a big if.

We could just keep Arshavin then.
Wenger won't even consider Berbatov IMO, too old and too lazy.
I agree we need another option, but someone with hunger and desire will only make it into this team.

A lot of me can't wait until Friday - at least with the window closed we know what we've to work with and can get on with it.

I forgot to say that we can also play Santos in midfield and he gives us a great option on the left side, as long as he's fitter than he was last season.

Ha ha was just about to say it - as long as he has toned up a bit. :D

Problem is we have two players that can play there more naturally.
Gervinho (who looks now like he can only play on the left) and Podolski which is his favoured natural position.

Personally I think we need another Striker.

One that Isn't 6ft tall and slow. We need a small quick player that can also not get knocked about, a player similar to Aguero or Teves.

Yes it's a nice position to be in if we have injuries. Pod can play up front and Gervinho can switch to the other wing too. Plenty of options.

Wish we had signed him years ago, bring in Defoe!

    Falcao would be nice. :D

It is but I don't think he will be too reliable at LB unfortunately for him.

    Similar in height or quality?
Because that type of quality is out of our chequebook range.

I am really interested in understanding why Arsene has been reluctant in signing M'Vila. The guy has virtually begged to be signed by Arsenal and I think he would be a great addition to the team and help free Arteta to play a more offensive role; so far the explanations have been:

    1. He has a history- so? just like most footballers!

    2. He is expensive- if I am right, he is on offer for circa €16m, about the same amount we got paid for Song.

There must be reasons why Arsene is not keen on him. This is not a Sahin where we had issues with signing fees and the lack of opportunity to buy at the end of the season- this guy could be bought outright tommorow.

Well he has mentioned we will only get DM of quality if one turns up, maybe he is suggesting he doesn't think MVila is good enough, based on our overall squad of midfielders.

Perhaps after being burnt again this Summer, maybe he's looking for players that are more likely to be loyal to the club and doesn't see that with M'Vila ?

Or maybe he prefers his midfielders to be more versatile ?

Personally, I feel he would have been a great acquisition.
