Trying to find a Childrens Book

    I would of read this book in the 1990's when I was in primary school, it was about a small town and the town was inhabited by these two creatures that looked like wolves standing up, one was green and the other was red, they were both capable of turning invisible.

    Anyone remember the name of the book?
