Seperate Entry Routes into Music Technology

    Hey Guys,

I've just finished my leaving and got offers in to a B.A. at UCD and Music and Instrument Technology in AIT. I bottled my leaving and was hoping to do Music Technology in Maynooth but was a few points short. I managed to get enough points in my mocks for the course but I had a rough time coming towards the end of the LC.

I was wondering if there's any other routes into Mus. Tech. in Maynooth other than repeating and what would be the easiest way to attain a place in the course. I've been thinking about doing a FETAC in Sound Engineering for a year and then applying for the course. I've been writing and producing music since I was 15.

    Thanks In Advance :)

I would honestly say to just repeat, it's likely the least complicated option. You got the points in the mocks so you know you can do it, and it's only a year out of your life whereas any possible PLCs would likely be two years. I repeated and am really glad I did, you should start looking for somewhere to repeat ASAP as the good places fill up fast. Best of luck to you.
