    The next Denis Irwin.

Can't tell too much from that video though. At times it looks like he's playing as a left winger or even a striker, not a left back.

Also it doesn't show any of his defending. He has a fantastic eye for goal though and looks comfortable going forward. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Isn't he a converted winger/playmaker? I haven't seem him play but I remember reading that somewhere.

It's just another ruse by Fergie to sign more wingers.

I've no idea. I know almost nothing about him except that he seems to be a bit of a looper.

Might light a fire under Evra's arse for you the new guy because he's been poor for a couple of seasons now.

I hook my laptop up to my HD TV, the LOF HD stream is about as perfect as you can get. You would never know it was a stream and it would even be better than SD imo. It costs me about 5 quid every couple of months, Sky Sports HD would cost me €50 per month.

    You do the math.

There's more than Sky Sports HD(UK) in the world of satellite tv ;)

I wouldn't have thought LOF was that reliable. Maybe just my perception of internet streaming in general is a bit out of date.
Also I'm a terrible HD snob, I'll regularly watch things in HD just because well it's HD.

I like this new streaming thing you can watch pretty much any match you want . Rupert murdoch doesnt choose for you ,

I don't understand people who watch streaming. Sitting cramped over a small cream trying to make out who the hell is who and listening to some arabic commentator.

Live in the stadium > HD TV Screen >>>>>>>>>>Crappy streams
I use my 40in tv as a pc monitor so yahh :-) ha

I've used LOF for 2 or 3 years now, I think there was one occasion that I couldn't see a match due a technical fault on their end, and even then I think I only missed the first half. It allows me to see every single Utd game on Sky, Setanta & ESPN and even the ones that aren't televised in the UK & Ireland. All for a few quid every couple of months. Not to mention most of EPL games, some other leagues as well has boxing PPV etc etc...

I don't have the option for FTA, so to get the same channels with UPC would cost me approx 70-80 quid a month.

Of course they do. Bigger screen and no buffering. Why would you not want to watch it on telly if you could?

Streaming is not like that, hasn't been for years.

I am also like you, love my HD and do not mind paying for it.I have had Sky for years and have never been without a service for more than 5 mins, pricey but worth it imo.

Whats the difference between 4-2-3-1 and what we played last night exactly apart from where you write the names "on paper."
What I meant we should stick to the formation we played last night which imo was a 4-2-3-1.Its the formation I think is best suited to the players we have.
I would like to see on Saturday:
    DDG
    RAF---Rio---Vidic---Evra

    Carrick---Scholes --

    Tony V ---Rooney---Kagawa-

    RVP

Of course this cant be played if we dont have a partner for Vidic and Carrick is needed at CB.
Cleaverly and Nani could also be played instead of Scholes and Tony.

If that Buttner chap can get into some of the attacking position Paddy Evra finds himself in then I think he'll grab a few goals over the season. More than Evra anyway. Hopefully he likes to get back from those attacking positions too.

Out of shape or not I'd still expect a player to have a decent first touch.
Rooneys first touch last night was abominable ,it was coming back off him faster than it was hitting his foot.
He has always had a poor first touch but last night was really bad .

No he hasn't. His first touch is normally excellent.

He was horrendous last night and his first touch and fitness were shocking for most of the game, it's true. But his first touch is normally excellent.

Following on from that, I want to address this myth that Rooney's general play was poor last season. He had a few poor games, but that's it, just a few poor games.

This myth that Rooney has been poor in general play for a good while is utter bollocks. Even if you overlook all the goals he scored, his link up play last season (and for the vast majority of his career) was excellent.

Rooney can melt down at any stage, be it because of hooker trouble, being played out of position, or whatever. He seems to be very delicate mentally. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if last night is just the start of him struggling. But when he is good, like he was last season, his all round game is excellent. Whatever happens over the next few months this myth that Rooney's general play last season was poor should stop now.

Are people all that surprised at Rooney's form? He was poor for pretty much all of last season. I don't know why its such a shock.

He scored 35 goals. What are you talking about?

All this hate towards Rooney is cringe worthy. Did anyone ever consider he just had a bad game? Cue the hatrick in a backlash against Fulham.

To be perfectly honest, Robbie Keane would have scored those goals in that United team with the opportunities Rooney has been given. The fact is, he has failed to show up when the team has needed him. He just can't create that big of magic that the likes of Messi, Ballotelli and Pirlo can.

I reckon hes on a steep downward spiral.

    Ah now come on man.
    Obvious wind up is obvious.
And you were doing quite well until you brought Robbie 'boyhood dream' Keane into it.
    Better luck next time

Well there it is, the most ridiculous thing I've ever read in the soccer forum.

Balotelli? Really? What magic did he produce last season (apart from his contribution in the QPR game)?

All I saw was a player who just didn't give a shít and messed up things more often than he produced magic.

Opener against City in the Cup at the Ethihad. Overhead kick against City in the league. Equaliser against Barcelona in the CL final. Goal against Chelsea in the away leg of the CL, The goal against............ah why am I even bothering. Your post is nonsense.

Steep downward spiral? All this after one game. If he had scored a deflected shot we would be hearing none of this but instead its the end of the world. There isn't a facepalm strong enough to reply to your post with.

the Rooney 02-07 to the 08-12 are like 2 different players
Rooney's pace is gone at 26 which is very strange
i imagine his lifestyle must not be the best

Ah ya can't beat the TV. I've a Season pass for Flashsportsstreams and I still got all the Sky Sports stations turned back on.. FFS is good for the games not on Sky but having a match with proper quality and sound ( no buffing as the lads said ) is great.

    :)
