Citing 80k a week wages as a waste seems wrong when plenty in this thread were perfectly happy for Berbatov to get that last season, and would be happy enough to continue that live affair this year also.

People also seem to be concluding that Kagawa will settle well this year, he may not like any other foreign signing. While the a Kaka deal may seem surreal and unneeded, for 80k a week any premier league club would be foolish not to take him

I take Kaka in a shot.

Just that lot of reliable journalists seem to think its rubbish.

    Who knows!

Dutch defender Alexander Buttner has flown into England to undergo a medical at Manchester United.

The 23-year-old was wanted by the likes of Southampton, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer - but now United have made their move and are ready to seal a €5million deal.

Buttner has already declared the move a dream, and as he left Schipol Airport in Amsterdam for Manchester, he admits things were still sinking in.

"If a week ago, you told me that together with Robin van Persie I would be playing at Manchester United, I would have driven you straight to the mad house," he said.

"One month ago Manchester United sent an email expressing their interest, but in the last four days it became concrete.

"I have not spoken yet with Sir Alex Ferguson, but if all goes well that will happen."

Buttner has been in dispute with Vitesse Arnhem over his future and has been training away from the first-team squad.

"With not being allowed to train with the first-team and the arbitration case against Vitesse, this was not a nice time so I see this as a reward," he added.

A month ago? If that's the case then he's definitely the 'one signing', imo.

This tweet from Ferdinand would confirm that he is injured:-

P***ed off doesn't get close to how I feel at the moment. Sake.

Meanwhile Owen still calls Ferguson "boss".

Anyone know what the dispute Buttner is having with his club is about?

Do you have evidence that it was the same people saying we should keep Berba that are now saying 80k a week would be a waste on Kaka? It's not like there was agreement in the thread on what to do with Berba.

We already have Kagawa, Rooney, Welbeck, Cleverley, Powell and Anderson who are all comfortable in the role where Kaka would be playing. There aren't enough games to go around as it is. It would be madness to get another player of that type into the club.

    @ProF

    Powell? Anderson? Wellbeck?

Having these guys is not a reason to let the opportunity to get Kaka on the cheap pass by.

Powell was doing his stuff at Crewe two months ago and you're using him as a reason not to sign Kaka on the cheap?

Wellbeck is not an attacking midfielder. He's a hard working albeit technically limited striker.

And the amount of nonsense spouted about Anderson on these pages is incredible (that isn't aimed at you ProF). The guy has proven nothing at United. He comes across as lazy and unprofessional and IMO he's been one of Fergie's worst signings. I'd dump him in a heartbeat. He's like the idiot son whose parents hope he turns his life around.

    That's a bit harsh,he's technically excellent imo.
It's just his finishing that sometimes lets him down.

this hate for kaka is hilarious.

oh he hasnt played at the top in so long, his legs are gone, hes not the player he used to be, we have asshley young!!

Kaka played over FORTY games for Real fackin Madrid last year - 8 goals, 14 assists.

almost 100games in the last 3 years. far far far from finished.

Well of course people wanted Berba to stay last season. We didn't have or even foresee Kagawa and RVP joining us did we?! He was our top scorer the season before too! Majority of people know that Berba will be leaving us and many have expressed their sadness in that knowledge.

How does anyone know Kaka is going to settle?!

If buying him was an option 4 or 5 years ago, I would have been praying day and night that we would get him.

We just have SO many options there. Even if Rooney and Kagawa were injured. You could use RVP or Welbeck as a support striker off the other striker or off Chicha and let Cleverley do his work further up the field.

Sums it up perfectly IMO. A few years ago, he would have been great not just because of his fitness issues, but also because of the relative lack of options united had in that area of the pitch compared to now. We simply don't need him, we nearly have too many players in that area already.

Think too many people are hearing the name Kaka and remembering the player from the 06/07 season.

He is a shadow of that player now and would not improve the team significantly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

    06/07??

even though he scored more goals in 07/08 and in 08/09 played 10less games but still had pretty equal stats.

what about last year when he got his most assists ever?

or the season before where he was scoring 1in2 in the league?

Who gives a toss about that though, really? His stats don't matter. The only important fact is the fact that WE DO NOT NEED HIM!!!

We didn't even need Van Persie, we most certainly do not need yet another forward.

Why the hell are people discussing some bull**** rumor made up by a just as bull**** wannabe agent hack on twitter!?!

And on game day too! For shame!

I'm not happy, but content, with Carrick in def with 2 of Ando Clev and Scholes in mid, though he done alright when slotted in against Barca.

Because the 07 season was the year he ripped us to shreds in the Champions League and went on to win the Player of the Year.

Kaka's style does not match Bebe's.
Can't see them linking up well.
    Would not buy.

the only way Kaka to United makes sense is if we plan to use him as a deep lying play maker - in the Pirlo role - as AC Milan had apparently planned for him had they been able to sign him this summer.

Other than that, we already have Cleverley, Kagawa and Rooney to play the AMC role.

Exactly. And how often has he actually played this position? Rarely, if ever I would imagine.

Hmmm, that does actually make sense, if he could play that role, you would have both him and Scholes to alternate between. Then Cleverley / Ando to play the more dynamic role in certain games. Still doesn't solve the problem of someone to cover / replace (delete as appropriate) Carrick though.

On another note, its more than likely going to be Carrick at centre half tonight. I think both Wootton and Keane played 90 mins for the reserves on saturday. Really is utterly retarded that someone allowed that to happen if it was known that Rio was injured.

Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but Kaka won't be joining Utd so the debate is futile.
