Definitely having some issues! Yes boobs are bigger but they aren't really the problem, my hips and tummy seem to have swollen! They are definitely better since I started Pilates a few weeeks ago, and they vary from one day to the next as well-unhelpful!
Really don't want to head down this slippery slope too early!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 167 ✭✭Lilbe

Wicklori, yes, the tummy is a bit bigger, but it's just bloating, I think, in the evenings I have a huge tummy and in the mornings it disappears. And I also eat more now than I used before, so I don't think it's a pregnancy tummy yet. Just some extra weight!
I used to be size 8 last year, but moved to size 10 in the beginning of this year (nothing to do with pregnancy), though still was wearing my size 8 trousers and skirts. Since about couple of weeks ago I don't fit into them any more, hope at least my size 10 stuff will fit me for a while!

    Hey Girls,

Anyone else getting more and more pregnancy symptoms of late. Im 7.5wks now and from week 6 I've had the dreaded MS and I'm nauseous pretty much all day. I was very bloated for last two weeks and my clothes were very very snug indeed, i went for a long walk at weekend I don't know if that had anything to do with it but some of the swelling has subsided and I no longer need to leave the top button of my work trousers open as they are fitting like they used to.

I had one of my worst Days of MS yesterday, in the bathroom 3 times at work mostly heaving and then last night after my shower and i had to get up out of bed during the night. Nothing in particular sets it off. I have no appetite what so ever so im eating only small amounts. Anyone any suggestions at what might take the nauseous feeling away? I don't really mind the MS as it makes it all feel real but the all day nauseousness is no fun especially in work as nobody knows. My office is small open plan office with the bathroom just off the office so i have to turn the taps on so nobody can hear me :o

Elly123, this might sound strange, but in my case eating helps from the sickness. Recently I don't feel hungry at all - I just feel sick and that means that I need to eat smth. Some pregnancy effects are just weird! :)
Might be different for you though!

Hey Lilbe, Yeah sometimes I cant distinguish between whether im actually hungry or nauseous. Im eating regularly but only managing very small amounts I had no sickness yesterday, i was just nauseous at different stages throughout the day. I don't want to speak/type too soon but maybe just maybe it might be settling down a little :)

Ive started waking up during the night needing to use the bathroom aswel. I also think my uterus is growing as i have slight niggles down around that area. Its amazing how the body changes and how all pregnancies are so different. This is my first and I had no clue what to expect in the first couple of weeks, i've read and heard so many stories about how ppl didn't have any signs or symptoms at all and ive been having them since i was about 4 - 5 weeks it's mad!

Im looking forward to the next 32 weeks :) they better fly by :) hahaha

Hi Elly123, my sleep pattern has completely changed. I used to go to bed and read or watch tv until about 11:30 and then I would fall into a deep sleep unil morning. Now Im usually asleep by 10:30 and I wake around 3am for the bathroom and then toss and turn until morning. I havent been sick at all yet but I am absolutely starving, which tends to make me feel a little off so I need food with me all the time. I had already started to put on weight before we concieved, just with the stress of it all so Im afraid now Im going to look huge!!!! My stomach has definitely begun to firm up a bit and Im only 10 weeks so i reckon I'll be showing by 14 weeks. I cant wait to be in maternity clothes.

This day two weeks I'll have my 12 week appointment over. Cant wait to know everything is ok and then be able to tell everyone. Am tired of hiding it and hiding my exhaustion too. :(

Hi Yellow hen, i had started to gain a small amount of weight myself before conceiving purely because i was afraid every month that i might be pregnant and didnt want to do anything that could harm the baby or myself. We had been trying for 6 months and i had a laproscopy after 3 months as ive suffered with endometriosis since the age of 13. My gyne said the lap would improve my chances by 50% in the first 3 months after lap. I conceived on the third month, the only month i ran out of ovulation tests and although i know my body i generally know the week i'll ovulate the tests always reassured us so i didnt know the date i ovulated so didnt expect for it to happen that month.

I am actually feeling great today only been sick once and not really nauseous at all, had my first big meal, i got through a starter and a main course at lunch so im delighted :D

I had an early scan when i taught i was 7 weeks but in fact it seems i ovulated later than i taught and i was only 5weeks 5days. i am back with them on Saturday then i will be 8 weeks as they want to ensure that all is ok and they see a heartbeat. I booked the scans privately.

I sent my forms back to the Coombe last Friday and decided to go SP it was a toss between public and SP but opted for SP as it is my first and plus i have previous medical history. I received my appt in the post yesterday im booked in for my bloods and dating scan with Midwife for 3rd sept and then again on 14th sept to meet the consultant. Im so excited now. Cant wait to meet the MW.

It will be interesting to hear how everyone gets on with their 1st hosp appointment.

I love been able to talk about it all here as everyone is in the same boat. :)

Having a crap two days in work so delighted to be able to come on here and chat!
I'm nauseous most of the time! Only vomited once, which was after exercise and dunno-maybe ate too soon or something. Don't have much else though. Boobs not sore, no nighttime trips to the loo..... But my tummy is definitely bloated- goes up and down during the day though.
Having the nuchal scan at the end of the month, obviously bit nervous about that.....
Did a major wardrobe clean up-put everything that either doesn't fit already or winter stuff that won't fit in winter-away in storage boxes! Can find what few things really fit now :)

Hey yellow hen, I'm under Andrea Nugent. I google searched her today and I've only read good comments about her, so I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Sick again this evening and boobs are looking huge! Even the OH commented on them :-) part of us is hoping it might be twins (we must be mad) but my mam was a twin and my dads sister was a twin and both my mam and dads grannies were twins. None of my cousins have twins, my sister is convinced that if anyone is going to have them it will be her but ya just never know :-) obv higher risks involved but either way with 1 or 2 we'll be happy.

Oh Jesus my family sounds like yours! We thought it could be twins too but at the 8 week scan sonographer said there was only one heartbeat. That might have been too early too tell though. I have gone up more than a bra cup size already...they already were a 34d :|

That's gas Yellow hen, I'll find out on sat but again might be too early to see. As I said either way we'll be happy!

I hate not been able to share my news, a few ppl have already suspected it and have asked my OH and my mam but they both just brushed it off as much as possible.

Both sets of parents are just bursting to tell ppl at this stage but they have another four weeks to wait I trust that they will but I know how hard it is as it will be the first grandchild.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 167 ✭✭Lilbe

We have not told anyone yet, not even our parents, so glad I can talk about it here! My best friend tries to conceive as well and we used to discuss it, but now I try to avoid these conversations, as afraid that she will guess, though I'm bursting to tell her!
I'm booked in Rotunda, private (had a laparoscopy there and conceived straight after it, so decided to stick with the guy who did laparoscopy), is anyone here booked in Rotunda? Will have first appointment next week, can't wait.
My sleep is mad - I feel very tired about 8 in the evening, eventually go to sleep about 10 - 11, and then will get up during the night one or two times for the bathroom. And apart from that burping and farting all the time! Oh and the weird thing is, that I'm thursty as well. So wake up for a bathroom and then have a drink!

me too :o!!! I only get thirsty late at night. All day I dont want to drink anything...typical!

Hey Lilbe, My sleep pattern is all over the place aswel and im like you i wake up for bathroom and for a drink. I also have a lot of acne on my chest and few spots on my face and neck, it is only in the last year or so that ive got acne but the last few weeks its getting worse. Please tell me this will clear soon enough! Delighted to hear you conceived straight after your Lap. Did you mention earlier you were diagnosed with Endo?

Wicklori - i hope today is a better day for you and you are feeling better.

Yellow hen I meant to ask you, did you get two separate appointments in Coombe for SP? i got one to see midwife on the 3rd Sept and have bloods, dating scan etc and then another for the 14th Sept to see the consultant. They both came in same envelope.

I want to drink all the time! Even started to carry a bottle of water with me. The funniest thing is when you want to drink and to pee at the same time - sure these 2 should eliminate each other? :)

Lilbe, I had a laparoscopy before christmas also. It was to remove cysts more than endo so I've no idea if it helped us to conceive or not. But we're delighted regardless.

From around 4-8 weeks I had horrendous acne on my chest and chin. I dont usually get spots so they really stood out...was mortified!

Elly, yes, I got 2 appts. One for the 23rd August and the consultants one for the 15th September.

It's exactly the opposite with me! Used to have pretty bad skin, and now it has all cleared, not a single spot.
No, was not diagnosed with anything - we tried to conceive for nearly 2 years with no luck, and all the tests showed that everything was normal, it just was not happening, had regular periods and no health problems. Was thinking that we should be one of these couples who can't conceive for whatever strange reason. And then it happened straight after laparoscopy, I could not believe it! My husband was suspecting that I might be pregnant, as I was very thirsty all the time and was complaining that my boobs were sensitive, and was asking me for days to take a pregnancy test, but I just thought that it would be a disappointment and a waste of a test again. Then finally took it and could not believe that it finally happened, took about 3 of different brands just to be sure. Delighted to be pregnant!

I never had bad skin, never even got teenage pimples, i came off the pill last year for two months and i was covered in these boil type spots i taught they were bites and i took antihistamines but no difference, i eventually went to doc and he said i had hormonal acne, they had pretty much cleared up after a couple of months. The last month or so i am getting more and more of them and they are quite red, i try to avoid make up as much as i can during the week in work but sometimes i just get embarrassed about them and have to cover them up. I am going to ask doctor if they can prescribe me anything for them even a cream to take reddness out of them.

I definitely think the Laproscopy helped in our situation. To be honest i also think we were very lucky as i had ran out of ovulation tests and we just decided feck it we'll give it ago every 2nd day and see what happens, without the tests we were so much more relaxed than the previous months as we actually didnt expect it to happen that month.

I had an 8week scan on Sat, there is one little rascal and has a good strong heartbeat of 158. Hearing the heartbeat was the most amazing thing i have ever heard, words can not describe how i felt.

How are we all feeling today? i was feeling good over weekend and then this morning i was hit with MS first time since Friday. I dont think my body or baby likes it when ive to go to work

Definitely hear you all on the hormonal spots! Always prone to them but they are on my chest and everything now-just like being a teenager again!
Had a rough weekend, puking on saturday adn the headaches!!! Thought I wouldn't make it to work without a nasty public transport incident but touch wood....

Wicklori you poor thing, i had a bad tension headache after the scan even though it was such a relief to see everything was going good, i think the build up and been so nervous caught up with me. I slept it off thankfully. I hear the ginger biscuits are great for picking at to keep the sickness at bay, i am going to get some today and see. Im also sipping on fizzy drinks which i find helps ease the nauseous feeling. i'll try anything at this stage :)

Lets hope once we all hit the 2nd trimester we'll all be full of energy with no sickness and we'll all be flying :D

I will turn into a ginger nut if I eat anymore!!! I have them everywhere! I think they have taken me out of a few sticky situations!!!!

I might try the fizzy drinks-any excuse!

I hear ya on the tension about the scan... We have the nuchal trans scan in 2 weeks and I am just trying not to think about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 507 ✭✭✭elly123

I can imagine the tension you might be feeling, i am sure everything will be fine, try relax and stay positive, easier said than done i know. Although im still very nervous about the whole pregnancy im staying as positive as I can. And a good oul wives tale if you suffer ms its a sign of good healthy baby :)

I must definitely get some biscuits so.

I think women should be able to take some maternity leave between weeks 6-14 due to sickness, it would make life so much easier :D:D:D:D

Hahaha, I think maternity leave should be for the whole length of pregnancy - you are growing a new person inside you, that's a tough enough job! :)

Girls, my MS is more like evening sickness, kicks in after lunch and can last untill I go to bed. Food in general helps to keep nausea away, and suprisingly if I spend time with other people I feel better. Might be tired and sick all day and then meet a friend after work and completely forget that I was feeling sick. Socialising keeps my mind away from MS! :)

Totally with you girls on the mat leave!! Even a day extra off a week.... :D

I also find distraction is great.... OH noticed too... And food! Regular feeding definitely helps... Even if I have to wrack my brains for something that doesn't make me queasy on sight! Think it's time for something now, or the keyboard might get it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 507 ✭✭✭elly123

I find eating regular does help, but i literally need to be handed something to eat because the taught of cooking something makes me sick, i actually haven't cooked since the sickness kicked in. Im going to my mams after work for my dinner most days or else im having a big feed on my lunch and just have boiled egg on toast in the evenings its as much as i can stomach to muster up. I find water makes me heave aswel, im struggling to sip 2ltrs a day but trying my best as i need to keep hydrated considering the amount of water im losing either between going to loo or from been sick.

I definitely think we deserve more time off throughout the pregnancy!!!:)
