Wrong . Welcome to yesterday :D

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18995674

But doesn't that say that the fee will be paid next season? I thought the offer they made this morning was 17 million up front?

I think he was saying that when people look at his second spell that the full 14 months of season time should be looked at rather than just the final 5 or 6 months.

Don't think he meant anything about Kenny's first spell as manager.

Well, I didn't make up the post I quoted.

The full 14 months of Kenny's term were poor. Poor on the field and poor of it.

The Carling Cup trophy and FA Cup final (nor any lingering sentiment about his legendary status) should be allowed to colour that.

That doesn't mean I am pre-judging Rogers and his ability to do the job.

Don't suppose anyone fancies making a 8 million bid for Aquilani :(

Not now, but I had a chat with a couple of mates and we will take him on loan for the five a side this season and pay 8 million next season if he can get a game.

Utter BS. That's as bad a bit of spoofing as what comes from those who seem to claim Kenny could do no wrong as manager second time around.

The first five months that Kenny was in the job saw the club average close to two points a game from January to May. Nothing poor about that at all.

The first four months of last season saw nothing spectacular but it was not poor either. By Xmas the club was still within touching disatnce of a CL spot.

January to May last season in the league was awful, and was coupled with a very good run in the league cup and a decent run in the FA cup.

There was a decline if one looks at those three segments, but there is no way the full 14 months of season time were poor on the pitch.

No idea what you are talking about when you say you did not make up a quote as I never suggested anything along those lines, nor did I make any comment at all with regards to Rodgers and your take on him.

If Carroll does go, which looks likely, does that mean that Bellamy is staying and will they buy some else or will Sterling make the step up?

    That's just ridiculous.

The beginning of Kennys reign in charge was quite promising - the style of play implemented was far, far better that what we produced under Hodgson

If Bellamy is capable of playing one game a week, then I would keep him. If his knee is at a point where he cannot play that often anymore or that two games in a week/10 day period sees him needing three weeks to bounce back, then I would move him on rather than relying on him as attacking cover should Carroll leave.

Would be better to bring in a new player that can play when needed rather than keeping a Bellamy that cannot manage semi regular games, much as I like Bellamy as a player and as a character.

If Carroll goes, and does well at WHU, it doesn't mean that he would have done the same at Liverpool.

It just means he's gotten out of a bad situation for him, and moved to a possibly better one.

He is a pretty one dimensional player, and Liverpool are not set up to maximise his talents. They weren't under Dalglish, and the certainly won't be under Rodgers.

If he goes to WHU, plays under Sam in a system that utilises his talents, then fair play to him and WHU for taking a punt on him and playing to his strengths.

Liverpool, with Suarez, just aren't set up like that. It's never going to be easy for Carroll in a team like that.

Ah here, so we can judge him on the first 6 months but not the last six?

I disagree then. I think our league form on average, over 14 months, was poor. We can take into consideration stiffer competition etc but its difficult not to call a spade a spade.

It was more of a disclaimer for those who feel the love for BR is premature.

I am not getting ahead of myself about what BR will bring to the table especially now that we won't have 100m to spend.

    You've nailed it.

If you're willing to set the team up around him and play to his strengths, I think he can be a decent Premier League player and nab 15 goals a season.

Where did I say that he can be judged on the first six months but not on the last six months? The whole period gets looked at and when one does that they see that some was good, some was bloody awful, but that it was not poor for all of it.

You said that our on pitch form was poor for all of Kenny's second term as manager. It clearly was not poor for all of his second term and I simply broke it down into sections to show where I thought it was decent to good, average and finally poor.

I think there was a steady decline during his time as manager and that the sections I broke it up into shows that decline, but there is no way I see the entire spell as being poor on the pitch because it simply was not.

As for adding a "disclaimer" about Rodgers........well that is up to you but it just seems odd to add a "disclaimer" to a person who was not talking about Rodgers and who has not used anyone's comments regarding Rodgers, pro or anti, as a stick to beat them with because it is far far too early to judge Rodgers as a Liverpool manager.

If, as is being reported, City are keen to offload Dzeko in order to bring in Van Persie - we should be doing everything in our power to try & land him if he'd be interested. Especially if we're getting rid of Carroll.

Forward options of Suarez, Borini, Dzeko & another would be decent.

    Sahin to Liverpool on loan?

It was just mentioned on 90elf (a German station) and they were one of the first media outlets to mention Suarez to Liverpool before it hit the mainstream media and I think they were the first with Hazard to Chelsea and also Chelsea's bid for Hulk.

What was mentioned on the show is that Real are looking to loan him out, possibly with an option to buy, to a big EPL club with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Spurs being named in the piece as the clubs that are meant to have been in talks with Real.

German media is linking him to three EPL clubs.

Given Jose's relationships with both Rodgers and AVP it is not so far fetched that he would be happy to loan to player to either.

If Sahin is willing to go to PL and Real are willing to let him go, I would be amazed if he doesn't end up at Spurs as part of the Modric deal

He would have absolutely no interest
We couldn't afford his fee or wages

Wiki last season had a piece on Eden Hazard's page about how Manager Kess brought Hazard to Liverpool in the boot of a car.

Just curious, and for the sake of arguemnet assuming that City would sell to us, how much do you think he would cost or how high do you think the club should go for him in terms of transfer fee?

Even so, circumstances give Spurs a big edge on other teams

It would appear that Rodgers and Jose are pretty tight as well.
