Postgrad timetables

    When do postgrads entering TCD this September get their timetables? Or can someone tell me what it is like, i.e. is it 5 days a week? full days/half days? I need to make arrangements for accommodation or commuting so I am just wondering as there appears to be nothing for this year on the TCD site yet...

    Are you a master's student or PhD? Taught or research? What department? Full-time or part-time?

    You'd need to contact your department directly, I suspect.

    i'm also waiting to hear the same thing, as i'm starting a phd there, and want to know if i'd need to be there every day of every week, or can just come in when needed because i don't think i'm going to be able to stay in dublin for the time being, especially as i didn't get funding.

    Contact your department. If you're going to be starting a taught course, they don't usually change the timetables a huge amount from year to year so you might get a sense of what the schedule is like.

    If you're starting a PhD, then get in contact with your supervisor to discuss working arrangements: if you're an arts-type student then you probably won't need to be in every day, unless you prefer to work in the library.

    I am the same, I'm not getting funding so the (long and tedious) commuting option is more realistic, unless I get accommodation that is dirt cheap or until I get started and see how the course goes :rolleyes:
