the paint on my bonnet is in bits!

    some muppet that owned the car before me washed the bonnet of the car with a brillo pad, then did quite the good job of covering it up when i went to view the car, now its in absolute bits. What should i do?

    ive already tried mantiz scratch remover, didnt work.
    and the scratches may be too deep for a cutting compound.
    re-lacquer maybe?

    Respray me thinks. I have a similar problem on the boot of my car. Looks like a Brillo pad was used. I was talking to a chip repairer guy and he said it was a bad Respray/paint job. Just a possibility.

    If its just marred and dull with clearcoat still intact a machine polish could bring it back.

    They look like very harsh scratches - as said, a machine polish would help, although full correction might not be possible, it would certainly make it significantly less obvious and far more glossy/shiny!

    Most quotes I've seen were around 2-300ish. Where was that done?
