    Found a MP5
    Enfield
    and a AKS 74u all in the same building.

    Any idea when the Boards server is updating to 1.7.2.3? Being playing on it all night and morning and seems decent. Animals are a bit fast and zeds are a bit on the dumb side but all in all it's not to bad. Much better than 1.7.2

    You're asking "Can't people just not update their dayz version until they know that it works?".

    Of course they can. It's the exact same logic as is used on the Boards.ie server which only gets updated when it looks like a patch is ok (i.e. maybe still buggy but nothing too serious that will affect gameplay).

    Six Updater is the only 3rd party 'supported' tool (the one Rocket gets the files to first) but that doesn't mean that you have to use it.

    Anyone know for sure if guille/camo is working properly with the FULLY updated client/server version? People are posting their feedback from random versions... can't seem to get a solid answer :(

    One of the DayZ team said earlier that Camo works fine on 1.7.2.3 (You won't lose your items after log out etc) BUT lots of people are losing their gear or reverting back to earlier character as lots of the servers are "running the wrong hive version"...make of that what you will! :)

    Not me but I've heard people running latest ARMA2 OA beta patch are having this problem and it's solved by going back to Ver. 94876...

    IE1 updated to 1.7.2.3 and Beta Patch 94876, you need those to be able to connect.

    This game is so tense.

    After all my effort in looting and some nice gear I have, I REALLY don't want to die, so every fleeting glimpse of another survivor is heart pounding.

    So many options go through your mind, run away, try to get closer for an easy kill, what if I miss and he kills me? What if I disturb the nearby zombies??? I can barely take it!

    I just got this game, and am slowly learning the controls which I must say are awkward as hell. Does anybody know how to open doors? I assume its just "enter". Im in this small farmyard place now and out of all the 3 buildings here I cant seem to go inside any of them. :confused:

    Just installed Arma 2 and the dayZ mod to see what all the fuss is about.

    Spawned near the ocean. Saw a town in the distance so headed over. Spotted a few zombies and started sneaking. However I was spotted and they started taking me to pieces.

    I have nothing to kill them with. How about I supposed to find weapons and supplies if I can't risk going near a zombie?

    Need some noob help here.

    Think I came across your body Trout (I didn't kill you). Your body was still freshly killed but the person was long gone by the time I was there.

    zombies are far too keen atm, what was wrong with their los/aggro previously ? I thought it was fine before besides the obvious killing you through wall bugs and ****.

    Problem with the zombie's detection abilities atm. You need to learn to spot buildings that are enterable with two exits. Usually red bricked buildings/supermarkets. So you can sprint in, look for weapons, if there's none there you can safely sprint out the other exit.

    Before they screwed up the zombies, you could crouch stealth in and out of towns to loot.

    Head for barns near the outskirts of towns. Most have 2 door and Zeds must walk inside. You can pretty much run up to a barn with Zeds chasing, head in and the Z's have to walk giving you time to look around for a shotgun, after that run out the other end, find another barn and repeat.

    Be sure you are crouch-walking when near zombies. Tap X to crouch and then use Shift to walk/run, double tap Shift to toggle.

    I still had trouble after I installed it, but realised Steam was launching the old version.

    I had to go into the Steamapps folder and launch it manually.

    Anyway, the version numbers match the boards server but it's full :(
    I'll play the waiting game...

    This game is driving me mad. I cant seem to find anything or do anything. Been playing for over 4 hours now, and have only managed to find an axe. Does anybody know how to equip it or if I even can use it to attack zombies?

    Ive been trying to follow guides and have been looking up the controls constantly but it seems to be really poorly covered.

    Press G, right click on axe 'remove from toolbelt' to use as primary weapon. Put it back on toolbelt when you find a primary gun. You can also right click on it when you're in a forested area to collect firewood, you need two empty slots in inventory to harvest the wood.
