Can PC users play online with XBOX live users?

Hi, my friends are playing Minecraft on their XBOXs and I would like to join in. But does will the PC version be able to connect to the servers that XBOX users use?
Want to know before I buy.

Well yes in a way (just not too many) xbox players can play with PC players

There are some games that do integrate but not many:

If it does happen, which I doubt. It will be a long way a way.

The PC version is miles ahead of the Xbox version at them moment.

Yep true, think the system architectures are too different, sure the xbox version is a limited size ,due to hardware limitations.
