Click on the red arrow. Once you've done that click on the white xbox live symbol on the next page. You should see 2 codes. There you go. The first code is your free 48hr. This worked for me.

Folks just as a reminder, if you have a new xbox (or bought it new some time ago) there are certain free gold allocations per console. When you create a NEW gamertag you pick which subscription you want silver or gold, pick silver and you will get a months worth of gold.
This will only work a few times though.
This does indeed work and it can be done a max time of 3.
That's 3 months of gold free
