Thinking of doing porn. Is it all that bad?

    Was talking to a male pornstar and he suggested I send my pics off to a few pornstudios online. "What harm?" he said so I've been up thinking about it.

    Now this guy isn't mainstream in porn but he's still been in a few videos so I'll take his word for it. Plus he's hot so I can trust his opinion on that.

    Anyway socially, are the repercussions still so bad in this day and age when it comes to performing in the adult industry? Even if I was to just do a solo? (which is mandatory btw)

    I'm not really sure how I feel about the situation because I don't want to devalue myself but I like the thrill... I need to save up for college and this definitely some way of doing it that's for sure although it might break some of my morals.

    Personally, I don't really have any hang ups about pornstars and I don't look down on them but I'm not sure if I want to be one.

    Saying that, I haven't even sent them off and they might not even be interested but I'm wondering if I make a stupid decision at 18, would it have major consequences down the line?

    What are your opinions on it if you were thinking of seriously doing this.

    Ya won't make money these days.

    It's all amateur porn and pirated stuff anyways, now. You'd be quicker making money filming yourself **** off into a cup while dressed as Olive Oyl and selling the clip off on the amateur sites.

    Straight male pornstars don't make any money. Gay pornstars are the highest paid in the industry though. That's why loads of straight guys go "gay for pay" and get away with their ****e performances because they're hot.

    I can understand if you're not familiar with how this area works. So for me, there is money to be made very easily but at kind of a moral cost.

    I read that when you audition you have to get hard and get off in under a minute or something and if you fail, you're out.

    Yeah I'm well aware of the dangers of going into it. But come on you don't go into these things (or even consider them) if you're 100% level.
    The suicide rate is crazy in the industry and it's kind of frightening.

    Here's a quote from a very famous gay pornstar (he even used to be friends with designers and was front row at fashion shows)
    “My name is James. I have worked in the adult entertainment industry for the last seven years of my life under the name Erik Rhodes. I’m not sure how I ended up here, and I don’t know how i have survived this long. All i do know is that it can be a very lonely place and sometimes i need a blog to get **** off my chest.”

    He's dead now.

    After he died I discovered his tumblr and it's very disturbing how alike we were in the way we saw things. One thing he did was abuse a lot of drugs and steroids ( I haven't done drugs) but like him, I have a bit of a self destructive behaviour with some things. And it was a real eye opener to read his blog. That's the real down side of it all I think.
