PA System (One Man Band)

    Hey Everyone,

    I am looking to start gigging in pubs and bars, but I am a bit inexperienced when it comes to the whole thing as I am only starting out. I want to invest in a PA System but I have no idea on what type of one to get. My setup is quite simple; just vocals and guitar. I have been looking at PA's on Thomann and the Yamaha Stagepass 500 has caught my eye. Would anyone here recommend it?,or has anyone had experience with this system.

    Like I said, I just plan on putting vocals and guitar through the PA, but I would like the PA System to have some sort of a USB port so I could use backing tracks (More Diversity).

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am quite unfamiliar with PA Systems in general.

    Probably between 800-900 euro. Trying to stay under a grand.

    a bunch of manufacturers make a portable all in one rig that folds down to about the size of a golf bag.

    I was using a Peavey escort this very afternoon at a school fun day. 4 tracks including two channels that are stereo phonos for your ipod etc.

    under £500 so about E600?

    the Peavey escort is really only designed for speaches, or a band practice. its not powerful enough for a one man band in a pub.

    your 1k budget will be tight.
    I would advice, dynacord powermate 600, pair of 12" EV speakers, and a shure SM58

    Depends on the size of the pub I guess.

    I've used one for a 200 seater church.

    a church is very different though, people are quiet and people are listeneing. With pubs, people are talking/shouting and its a very noisy place.

    i have used that exact setup before. sounded pretty good. those HK speakers are lovely
