One thing I'mnot sure about with rfactor, is it now like iracing where you pay your monthly fee and won't have access to it when you stop paying?

The title will sell for $43.99, allowing unlimited access to single player & mod development mode.

So you will be able to access all your content and play offline as much as you like, the subscription is only for online racing. That is if I have understood it correctly.

Well I hated it... It didn't have presets for the G27 and the G25 presets didn't work. Wasted 40 minutes of the free 60 minutes trying to get the steering wheel to "kind of" work...

I thought the menu was poor (certainly looked cr@p like I was playing a game from the 90s!).

So anyway, I uninstalled the game and went back to Projects Cars! :D

@Steffano2002: I think you just had some bad luck man. It works wonderful when all is setup and running. And menus and stuff look good to me, what resolution where you on? Come back to Ireland man and comon over for a cup and test it at my house. Jack and Russell would be happy to see you =)

Had everything set to Max or Ultra and resolution was set to 1920x1080. I have an EVGA GTX680 so I'm sure it can handle it!

If you do come over give me a shout and I will fix a little "top gear" night. One track, one car and may the best driver win =)

Sound like a good idea to anyone?

sounds good! need to get a regular thing going alright, something to look forward to, Weeknights or weekends are good, Weeknights might be better for me..

How about we setup our own little race night and start from there. I have access to a team speak server so if you all have mics we could all sit and talk at the same time and that makes it soooo much more fun.

    Lets vote on car/cars.
Formula Renault 3.5, I am loving this car.

    Track.
    Portugal

    Day:
    Wednesday 20th June 8pm.

Race setup: 30min practice, 30min qualify and 20 lap race. This gives people 1 hour to drop in before the race starts. The winner picks track and car for next session.

Sound like a plan? I would love to organize something like this and could even start a web site for us.

Myself (and a mate of mine in France who is also mad into racing sims) would be up for this!

But you really need to talk me through how to setup rFactor 2 because the hour I spent with it was hateful!

@Steffano2002: Ill get the IP to the Team Speak server and we can see if we can sit and talk through it =)

Ill start a new thread for this weekly "event" =)

Well I (literally) dusted off my GT3 RS v2 and Clubsport pedals last night and had a couple of hours on rF2 beta last night.

I bought it in January but I never played it with the wheel, what a blast it was. The FFB is epic, I can still feel my bones rattling...great stuff!!

One thing though, while taking the Renault for a spin around the Portugal circuit, there was a yellow hue (from the sun I think) on the windscreen that was really distracting and I couldn't really see the track as well as I'd have liked too. How do I get rid of that effect?

@moolers2000: What view to you have when driving? (e.g. cockpit)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,499 ✭✭✭M00lers

I use cockpit view, I've read that it may have something to do with FXAA but I haven't had time to check yet. No football on tonite so I might get on for a couple of hours to check it out.

You can basicly put the mods where ever u want and use the mod manager to install them. If its updates to the game that come as exe files u can put them in \rfactor2\updates folder. I store all my mods in the \rfactor2\packages

best of luck Rossi IRL and give it a chance I think you will like it. If you do like it you should join on Wednesdays we are having great fun :-)

@moolers2000: Sorry for my late reply, did you get it sorted? If you didn't could you take a screenshot and post it? And if you did get it sorted, how did you fix it? Always good to know =)

No didn't get around to sorting it yet....my PC is in the middle of an upgrade at the moment so I'll get back to rF2 when I'm up and running again. I'm also planning a DIY budget rig and thats keeping me a bit distracted too. Will be worth it when it's finished though!!
