Ulysses.
I've to read it for college. I wasn't looking forward to it given it's notorious reputation as a difficult book to read. So far, I'm enjoying it.

Finished it earlier this year ... not as difficult as it's reputation suggests.

This is top of my list for the summer. I've read A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and loved it so I have high hopes for Ulysses.

I'm reading 'God and the State' by Mikhail Bakunin, mainly out of curiosity. So far it's either a dreadfully translated version of a decent book or a dreadfully written book made even worse by the translation. It drops off mid thought, leaves sentences hanging and jumps around quite a bit.

I read A Visit From a Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan, incredibly easy to read and a good change of pace from the Game of Thrones I've been reading. Into the second part of Storm of Swords now.

Indeed. Not alone what he done but reading about his "out of body experiences" and how they kept him alive really shows how extraordinary the mind can be.

I'm half way through "Posession" by A.S. Byatt. Also reading "The Great Gatsby". I love American literature from that era.

Just finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. I found it a thoroughly enjoyable read. Starting into Pure by Andrew Miller for my book club now. Let's just say it has a tough act to follow!

Am a bit of the way into Kingsley Amis's "Jake's Thing" (would really recommend Amis to anyone who enjoys good, comedy writing. He's very funny, particularly in "Lucky Jim")
