    It's a Herve Leger style one http://www.net-a-porter.com/Shop/Designers/Herve_Leger/Clothing

Don't know if the OP's one is a Herve Leger though.

cee jay - I didn't think office.co.uk delivered to Ireland, nearly sure I've read on here a few times that people have had orders accepted and payment taken and then an e-mail to say that they don't deliver to Ireland (someone correct me if I'm getting mixed up or this has changed)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,920 ✭✭✭cee_jay

It cost £9 to get delivered here - my friend had a pair delivered only today, but she lives next to the border, so hope it has changed!

I sure hope so, let us know how you get on, and if it is the case that I'm totally wrong hopefully someone else can correct me :D

    From Etsy.com, E40.00 for nearly 3 yards

Etsy.com again, bout 26 euros for nearly 3 yards.

New fabric! both vintage cottons from the 70s, not sure what the hell sort of dress I'm gonna make out of the patchwork one but it's so cool, I had to have it redface.gif

    7494.jpg

New sewing pattern, getting started on it today but changing the skirt to a half circle skirt for a more 50's/rockabilly feel. i'll add a layer of tulle ruffles to the skirt lining for extra flare too.

    207602.JPG

This is the fabric I bought to make it in, nice quality cotton in a dark red with cream hearts and polkadots (6.99 per metre), the collar will be in an off white plain cotton (think it was 4.99 per metre). Got these in Vibes and Scribes, Bridge st, Cork city.

Gorgeous dress pattern! And it's going to look great in that fabric, so cute! Would love to have the skill to make an entire dress from scratch.

Well I'm sure there'll be lost of hair pulled out in the process, but ya it's great being able to make exactly what you want. There's lots of good dress-making night classes out there, I do a day a week in a local college studying dress-making and tailoring, costs about 35euro for a full day.

Sounds good, I may look into it! :) The most my sewing machine has done is hem curtains and adding little embellishments to tops and the like.. :P

You totally should, you might get the bug and not be able to stop like me :) It's great if you find it hard to get stuff you like in the shops.

I was talking about this in work today, I'd love to get into making my own clothes because whats in the shops right now especially is just not my cup of tea at all (which is why I don't really participate in this forum much anymore either).

Yeah, I hate that! There have been long periods of time when I haven't bought even a stitch of clothing because I often have very definite ideas of what I'm looking for, and they'll be nowhere to be found! I never just follow fashion for the sake of it. Saying that, if there's a trend I really like and it suits me, I'll go for it. But I don't follow trends slavishly.

you'd should both look into it, usually you start with something simple like a skirt just to see if you actually enjoy it or not before moving onto something complicated that requires some commitment. I've only been sewing since February before last and half my wardrobe is handmade now. You'd be amazed how quick you can pick it up with some professional guidance!

Charcoal converse, I bought a cheap imitation pair in Dunnes to see if I should buy the real thing and I think I like them!

Got this in River Island for €40 and I don't think I'll keep it tbh. It's very long on me (past the knee) and I feel kinda round in it.

It's something I've wanted to do for a long time. I don't know what's stopping me! I see that you're in Cork, I also live there (Cork City), so can you recommend a class to me? :)

I got an €120 BTs gift voucher from work for my birthday (I know, I was shocked too!) so after ages searching for something I could afford I settled on this Paul's Boutiques bag and purse for the exact amount (purse: €45, bag: €75)

and I got these earrings in River Island.. I didn't know they'd expanded their earring line, there's some really cute ones there now..
they're pretty cheap though so I hope they don't irritate my ears
