    Hi guys.

I'm looking to get some fuel additive and from some research it seems BG44K seems to be the most highly rated. Does anyone know where I can get this stuff, preferably around the south east :)

    Halfords don't have it.

BG stuff is Trade supplied only, you can't buy it over the counter.

Ah right. Would you say I could get it from some of the main dealers??

The importer here told me you can buy it at the parts counter at Volvo and Merc dealers. I used to get it at a Volvo dealer here (now gone).

    What exactly does it do?

If you ring Bg Products in Dublin, they're quite helpful. They pointed me to a local garage (mitsubishi / peugeot dealer) that stocked it.

Think I paid €38 for it. Car is running well, but it had been anyway! I read several recommendations for it on some toyota forums for it.

BG products seem to be very highly rated on the alfa forums too.

We stock BG products. They are one of the very few fuel system treatments that actually work.

Does it work for both petrol and diesel and do these treatments have any adverse effects such as wearing of seals and so on?

are you sure you are getting BG 44K for 20 euro as opposed to some other BG product ? If you are and that is inc VAT then you are getting a good deal.

On the subject of BG 44k, does anyone know if this is safe for TDI engines ?
I need to reduce the emissions in my car for an NCT but Im afraid this might damage my engine/diesel pump ?

    Thanks guys,
    Jack.

BG44K is for petrol engines. You will need BG244 for a diesel engine. I ran a can of the petrol version through my fuel a week before my NCT and it passed thankfully :).

Parcel Motel and Amazon.co.uk. Costs just over £25 a can.
