Below is a brief guide showing how to add Today FM and other Irish Local Radio stations to VU+, Dreambox 800 and other Enigma 2 satellite receivers. The new stations will appear in channel lists with other satellite radio stations.
List below adds Radio Nova, Classic Hits 4FM, Today FM, Dublins 98fm, SpinFM, LMFM, Highland RADIO ,Limerick Live 95, Ocean FM, Clare FM.
Web connection required as these new stations are received via webstreams. Dreambox Control Centre program required (or other FTP program) and latest image installed on your satellite receiver. I have tested with latest Vix on Vu+duo Version 2.4 and Latest Openpli image on Dreambox 800HD.

    1. Open Dreambox control centre program and connect to your receiver.
    2. FTP to Var/etc->etc/enigma2
    3. Scroll down to userbouquet radio, Usually the first userbouquet in list. (You can install in any bouquet, I only suggest radio bouquet)
    4. Click on userbouquet radio and then rightclick and select edit.
    5. scroll down to bottom of list and paste the list below into bouquet. (to Paste click button to right of scissors on top.)
    6. click save and exit. (Button to extream left on top)
    7. Restart enigma.

When receiver restarts go to bouquet where you pasted list below and new radio stations should now be listed in bouquet. In this example stations appear in radio bouquet. Select your station and enjoy!

    £215 delivered for a clone vu+ is a rip off,thats almost 270 euro .
You can buy an original Vu+ Duo from German retailers for 300 euro and have peace of mind as well as a proper warranty.
I am very tempted to get one to upgrade from my Dm800.

You won't regret it, I replaced all my DM800's with Vu+ and to be honest the 800's aren't even in the same league. Better performance, spec, build-quality. Its just a pity it took me so long to replace them!

Nice, I'll have to try this later!

Does anyone know if you can run live video streams through a Vu+? mms, rtmp, rtsp etc.

I bought three VU Duos in the last three weeks from a German retailer and they are certainly not clones

€299 + €25 P&P is pretty standard price from Germany for the Duo

Installed the radio channels today and it is working really well. Need to do a bit of updating so I can get Ocean FM working.

I got this working too by installing the nstreamplayer plugin on Blackhole and editing the config for it in VU+ Control Center. It works amazingly well with my Live247 account. Similar to the app people use on Apple TV with their flashsportstreams account. Delighted!

Did you get the radio channels working in a bouquet in Blackhole? I'm having no joy:(

I updated to 1.7.4, as there's mention of Stream IPTV. Turns out this is a plugin, I got the RTEs added to this by messing around with streams.xml, using givecredits post as the basis, but I'd prefer to have them in a bouquet.

    Any ideas?

Also, how do you convert them? interested in getting eastcoast radio converted.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks, only gst-plugin-rtmp is built into BH, so that's my problem. They weren't in the packet list either, so I didn't bother adding them from elsewhere in case they mucked up something else. Maybe they're only for PLI based images?

Anyway, I used your posts as inspiration to add the radio stations (and RTE TV) to the StreamTV plugin for BH 1.7.4 and above. For anyone interested:

    FTP to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/StreamTV

Replace the stream.xml with the one attached. I did a few of the icons too, but they're pretty tiny.

Doesn't seem to work with stations using mms or mmsh protocols, or with .asx streams, so I left them out.

Phantom not working fo me either, just a few seconds of news about the HSE every time:rolleyes:

    Try this for East Coast:

    #SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//dream.wavestreamer.com:7039:East Coast FM
    #DESCRIPTION East Coast FM

I used the link to the list of stations in the first post, launched them in VLC, then when the stream is playing, go to Tools/Media Information, at the bottom of the window is Location, that seemed to work better then some of the .pls, .m3u addresses.

Thanks rurs for update on your setup. Adding the plugins should not have any adverse effect on your image. They are available in tspanal if you have it installed. Thanks to your tip re VLC player I have converted a few more streams. (Q102, Cork's 96FM, Red FM and East Coast)
For VIX and PLI users these all work*

Bit of trial and error at the moment. All streams must start with:

    #SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//
    or
    #SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:m3u%3a//
    or
    #SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:asx%3a//
    or
    #SERVICE 4097:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:pls%3a//
    depending on stream type.
Then basically add the stream at the end. Remove any : (semi colon) from stream. The only : should be the one before station name, eg :Radio Nova

Get the correct stream using rurs tip with VLC player. Some streams work and some dont. I have not figured out why yet....

Look like east coast radio is going to be one of those that just wont work - tried every combination, including rurs, and to no avail. It even seems to be difficult to stream with vlc, it seems to work only with the embedded player on the east coast radio site.

    Thanks for all the help!

http://dream.wavestreamer.com:7039 will work in VLC, and it works for me in StreamTV. I posted this above, but givecredit mentioned that colons are only used as seperators. So the colon before 7039 has to be changed to UTF-8, with a % preceding it. You can see it after the http too (that gave me the clue).

You'll need to use something like Notepad++, which can edit these files without messing up the encoding.

Are you using dreambox control centre? (DCC) Right click the radio file probable called "userbouquet.94b4c.radio" and click edit. This should open userbouquet.94b4c.radio and you can paste settings.

    'Filezilla' presumably....generic FTP client.

In FileZilla go to edit > settings...

In the left column scroll down to "file editing"...

Select it, then in the right column select "use custom editor" then browse to the .exe file on your comp for Notepad++.

    Hope it helps. :)
