AVB or Benitez plus a stadium and at least £40m transfer budget and I'd be happy. As is, though I didn't think Kenny was the best man for the job, I'm sad to see him go and I think FSG are mental to do this without the rest of the club being in order, specifically a press officer and a DoF.

BBC running it as breaking news, is also on US tv that Kenny is gone.

Gone from being Twitter rumours to actual networks running it as fact now.

Ok, only good thing is that if a new man comes in he's going to want to put his own mark on squad, so there must be funds available!

Martinez is a very over rated manager in my opinion. Marcelo Bielsa would be an interesting choice too if they can pry him away from Bilbao.

    stop talking shíte.

and stop lecturing us on stability.

    you, of all people...

I wasn't lecturing you on stability, I was just pointing out 3 managers in 2 years is uncharacteristic for Liverpool.

Do you not think with the gross amount of money he's spent on over rated English players he's set you back a few years?

"Sky saying 3 young Premier League managers, most notably Brendan Rodgers are being targeted by FSG." @SiClancy

    ugh...

I hope they aren't that ****ing stupid.

It really exploded all of a sudden didn't it. Almost out of the blue, relatively speaking on today's perspective.

Seems yesterday evening/this morning was just the eye of the storm.

+1 look what he's done with Swansea, imagine the team he could put together if FSG back him financially.

There's a big difference managing a team that is only happy not to be relegated and managing a team where it's deemed failure not to finish top 4.

Transfer targets in Europe won't even know who the fcuk he is when he rings enquiring about a player ! :pac:

I am sad to see Kenny go but it is probably the right decision provided they have someone decent lined up

    Please let it be Rafa
    Please let it be Rafa

To the people suggesting Rodgers - Swansea scored the 6th fewest goals in the league with their "beautiful" football. They pass it around nicely but they do not play attacking football.

had to be done lads, unfortunate but thats football, sad to see him bow out like this but at least he wasnt a failure in his 18months,trophy wise..

    always be the king.

please let they have someone already lined up so the club can move onwards with summer plans.

Its been a fact since 16.15, some are a bit slow to confirm news as a fact. I'm sure it will also be confirmed that the manager was sacked, certainly nothing points to a resignation.

Pretty astute timing of the announcement on the day of the England squad, it will at least deflect some of the publicity. The Terry/Rio issue is strong enough to grab some of the Dalglish story.

Looking obvious from everything on the web from journos etc that Martinez is the man. Can't see why Pool fans are so negative. He's a well spoken, media friendly, young, hungry manager and Wigan played some breathtaking football in disposing of top teams to stay up. Everything Kenny isnt and didnt do. He'll do very very well indeed.

1st bit arguable (it's a game of opinions) 2nd bit spot on - 0% chance he gets it. Move on.

Please people, don't start calling Lambert a joker. He's clearly destined for the top.

He has stones to step on before he is an appropriate candidate for the Liverpool job.

Or Cabaye when he left the then French champions to move to Newcastle.

The Liverpool job will be a hard one for any manager willing to take it on.

The job is a poison chalice at this stage with 3 managers in 2 years, so much for pool being a club that prides itself on stability.

A new manager coming in will need money to spend and will also have to work with Kenny's desperate signings. I fear Kenny has set the club back a few years and can't see any other manager been given the time to sort out the utter mess he's left behind.

    Lol.

Lambert is a notch higher up than Rodgers and Martinez IMO.
