Given the season is barely over its unlikely anyone has been approached even in the most sidles up sideways "psssssssst" fashion.

    Fúck sake.

Was really hoping we were better then that.

Then again, its all about results in this business, and Kenny couldn't deliver.

He will always be a hero at the club, no matter what happened this year.

We would want to have a Top Class appointment waiting in the wings.

Would love to see Rafa back. Martinez is just slightly favourite at 13/8, with Rafa at 7/4.

Not really a fan of Martinez, despite the **** he had playing for him at Wigan.

Just think its too much of a Hodgson type appointment, a manager doing well with a shít team, doesn't guarentee that he'd be a good manager at Liverpool.

Also, Don't give a shít if it was just the Carling Cup, how many times over the last few seasons could we boast that we finished with more trophies then United, in a year?

    Telegraph Sport ‏ @TelegraphSport
Kenny Dalglish is leaving the employ of #LFC entirely - will not take up a ambassadorial role.

Villas-Boas would be an excellent choice for Liverpool though I think he was heavily linked with the Roma job a little while ago.

just to say...thank you Kenny (which seems a bit retarded, yes, since he'll never read this).

you tried, you got us a cup, to another final, and showed your love for the club at every turn, even when I, and many others didn't agree with you at various times throughout this season.

you can leave your post with your head held high in the knowledge that you will always be a legend at our fine club.

you always put the club first, and I've no doubt that played a big part in the reason that you've left.

    legend.

Sky News saying he has definitely gone.

FSG have sacked everyone of serious consequence in the club/first team bar Ian Ayre and Steve Clark. I suspect Ayre will either go or return to finances if Clark stays on that could be an indicator of something. Just not sure what.

if he was sacked, and he's due a compensation package, then that really is quite a big call from the owners.

we'll have to wait and see what the details are.

was he sacked or did he leave?

Will he be just Duke Kenny now? Not sure he'll manage another club or take up another position within the club.

8th in the league and now no manager. They need someone that will pick everyone off the floor, bring in the right players and make a go for a good position next year.

Whoever they bring in, it'd want to be fast so he can put his stamp on the team over the next few months or they are royally fcuked.

Anyone who actually believes he resigned is deluded. He's been sacked and the owners will have agreed to say he resigned so that the fans will peddle this ''he's done what's best for the club'' shite.

They better have a top class replacement lined up.

I haven't really been able to get to grips with this all situation at all.

But now that he is gone, i think that maybe he should have been able to manage for at least one more season.

If Alex McLeish, Martin O'Neill or Steve Bruce end up managing LFC, it would be an absolute disaster!

#rafaback will be trending on twitter soon.

Always thought it would end like this. It's sad and he'll always be an Anfield legend but as a manager he was out of time and out of touch.

Rafa or AVB from the realistic candidates if I were Pool.

"Sky saying 3 young Premier League managers, most notably Brendan Rodgers are being targeted by FSG." @SiClancy

    ugh...

The King is dead, long live the King.

Big call from the owners, have to say I agree, he had to go.

Still, having missed Kenny's first managerial run, I was delighted to finally see him on the sidelines at Anfield. His passion and enthusiasm were great to see, sadly that couldn't make it's way to the pitch.

Still a legend though that will never change. #YNWA
