Just watch now as Stewie Downing plays a total of 30 minutes during the summer and racks up an assist or two.

Think I might even record it and release a DVD.

It could be something to watch, to remind me of his good times, as he goes through yet another league campaign next year without registering a single one.

He actually has a decent record for England over the last 12 months or so, 4 assists.

Still, no way he should be in it.

True, I recall he was man of the match in one, if not two, of England's games. Seems to put in a decent shift when playing in Wembley, FA Cup final aside (Although he was credited with the assist for Carroll's goal that day as well).

Personally, I would of chosen Lennon although I can see maybe Hodgson thinking he had the speed merchant covered with Walcott and Chamberlain. Next I would of said Adam Johnson, but maybe Downing's greater experience with England got him the nod.

Stolen from someone random on twitter
A while ago some wanted a return to "the Liverpool Way" & do things behind closed doors. Now they want club statements about Twitter rumours

What I wouldn't give to see a 24 year old Fowler in the Liverpool team next season

Sounds like he'd be physically and mentally wrecked after it though to me. Can't see how that would be good for us. Everyone needs a holiday you know.
Why the lol?? You ask for a potential positive outcome and then when you get an answer you just laugh?? That's a bit disrepectful no? I mean, sure it's an outside bet for sure but I'm sure many of your supposed negative influences are outside bets also.

    The Daily Fail.

EXCLUSIVE: Dalglish in danger of losing Liverpool job before end of the day

    By Matt Lawton
    PUBLISHED: 14:57 GMT, 16 May 2012 | UPDATED: 15:04 GMT, 16 May 2012

There are dramatic developments unfolding at Anfield that could lead to Kenny Dalglish leaving Liverpool by the end of the day.

Dalglish, who guided Liverpool to Carling Cup glory but oversaw their FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea at Wembley this season, is in danger of being shown the door by the club's Fenway Sports Group owners, just two days after holding a showdown summit with main men John W Henry and Tom Werner.

Dalglish arrived back in Merseyside on Wednesday but is due to leave the UK again to go on holiday with his wife.

The Reds finished in eighth place in the league - four points below rivals Everton and level with ninth-placed Fulham on goal difference - in a woeful season that saw them lose four league games at Anfield

They aren't even trying to make an effort with this article. They could at least mentioned an "unnamed source" or something.

@TimesSport - We understand that Kenny Dalglish could leave Liverpool #lfc by the end of the day. More soon

    Looking that way

Dan Roan & Oli Kaye along the same lines, statement by the end of the day & it is looking ominous for Kenny

The words ''in danger'' and ''could'' lead me to believe that he's guessing and chancing his arm.

Journos are always looking to do things like this so they can claim they broke the story first and better their reputation.

Edit: More journos coming out with the same stuff doesn't look good for Kenny though.

    it seems he's gone.

good timing on the day of Hodgson's fail of an England squad. it might help take the attention off the club.

It's official, BBC Sport now reporting Kenny has left. Big call for FSG, what now? They've really cleaned shop.

Thanks Kenny for your efforts - You're still a legend - YNWA!
