I think The-Rigger/Andy Carroll has this well covered from before.

At least he is consistent on his opinion.

The only reason Kenny should be replaced is if there is someone better lined up to replace him.

The names being mentioned at the minute aren't very flattering.

Rafa is along way ahead of alot of the names being mentioned.

Martinez, Lambert and Rogers lack the necessary experience, but maybe it could work if one of them shared the management with Kenny. A bit like Sir Bobby and Stan. :pac:

Exactly two years to the day since the former Liverpool player Besian Idrizaj passed away at the age of only 22. RIP

    Belgian trio were club signings.

    Piazon was bought before AVB.

Bamford I'd imagine a club signing but I don't know for sure.

    Romeu was definitely AVB.

From what I can tell your right though, AVB seems to have a very good knowledge of young players in Europe.

I will be raging if Liverpool sign AVB. He's going to be an amazing manager imo, and I'll desperately want any team he goes to to do well. Fortunately it looks like that team will be Roma, he was linked with them and Valencia and somebody from Valencia said that when they contacted him he said he already had a deal with another club. In a perfect world that club would be Chelsea.

It will be fascinating to see how AVB does at Roma if he does go. Luis Enrique was all talk and tried to implement a Barca-style philosophy, but there is a serious lack of pace at Roma and i lost count of the number of times they were taken apart playing a high line. Perhaps, like AVB at Chelsea, a case of the right system with the worng players (or vice versa?).

I would be very excited to have AVB at Liverpool. It would take two years minimum of patience (and we're not the most patient, but we've waited for league success long enough, we can wait some more if it means building something moving in the right direction which we are not doing at the moment imo) and a turfing out of the likes of Adam (and arguably Carroll regardless of how good he has been for the past few weeks).

AVB will get it right again somewhere, the egos at Chelsea behaved selfishly and got rid of him (not that i'll feel too sorry for him, he was well compensated for his troubles). His football is exciting, the tactics he preaches, but its a huge gamble without the right players and a lot of disipline too. The thing is, we actually have some players that could work well under AVB: Agger and Johnson and possibly Enrique would all be very suited, so we'd have a decent starting point at the back. Will Kenny get it right given another two years- personally i'm not confident he will, hopefully i'm wrong.

I'm a little disappointed in myself feling like this, but i now realise deep down i was hoping Kenny would leave today. You can't lie to yourself can you :(

Just on AVB i think his prefered tactic would suit liverpool down to the ground

we are suited to playing a high backline because we have Reina he is fantastic at sweeping and have reletively quick defenders when carra doesnt play.

we are also suited to his 4-3-3 formation as we have no decent wingers and most of our cm's cant play in a 2 man midfield. I think it suits suarez coming in off the right side of a 3 man attack aswell and he should get more space

I would class that as a little bonus but not something to be relied upon.

when has he ever let us down in that area?

I think he means that attribute is a bonus, rather than a necessity in a keeper.

Personally, I would hate to see Pepe going anywhere.

On this whole Skrtel thing, I want to see him stay but if City were interested, we could do worse than taking money (say, 15million) plus John Guidetti I think.

He's just turned 20, and on loan at Feyenoord got 18 goals in 15starts and 2 sub appearances. Doesn't have as much pace as I'd like to bring in, but is a strong runner, decent feet, and great shooting accuracy from a big range of distances - can put it in the corner from 5 yards or 30 yards.

Stolen from Twitter, no offence intended just thought it was funny!

If King Kenny does get the sack will that finally count as assist for Downing?

No. By definition, Downing would have to create a finished goal chance for it to be considered an assist.

Lots of misinformation passing through this thread about Martinez, AVB and O'Neill. All nonsense, I can confirm 100% that Kenny is staying put.

How is people giving their opinions on different managers misinformation?

Has anybody actually said one of those managers would be at Liverpool next season?

Thanks Chessplayer, maybe pass that on to the waiting media and put them out of their misery?

I know this talk of Kenny going somebody else coming in is rampant, but what about the idea of Kenny moving upstairs in an advisory/dof role and another manager coming in?

You cannot sack a King. He needs to either abdicate or be overthrown by a people's revolution.

I'm not for it tbh, if he's gone then let him be just that, gone. New manager, new start, new era. If he's deemed not good enough to be our manager why put him in and advisory role for the new manager?

Maybe put him back in his old ambassador role, but that would be about it for me.
