I still expect a statement to be released if he is staying on.

I thought the club issued a statement earlier saying there was no truth in the rumour?

If he's gone you'll know, the club can't keep issuing statements every time there's a rumour going on twitter.

Also I though Werner said Kenny had their full support only a few weeks ago or is that the same statement you mean K-9?

Only replacemants I would be happy with atm are Rafa or Martin O Neill. I'd rather one of these than Kenny, but rather kenny than other people being linked.

They might have, I must have missed it though. I don't expect one to happen every time their in a twitter rumour, I do expect them to after they do their end of season review though. Who knows, maybe they will say nothing on the situation for the whole summer but I doubt it.

I think I'd die a little if Martin O'Neill got the job

He'd be more in touch with the modern game than Kenny tbf.

Thought there was something on the website today.

I don't know if we will get something after the review. "We've conducted our review and Kenny is staying" type stuff, I don't really see the point other than to satisfy twitter and media junkies.

    I don't see us competing for 4th with O'Neill.

O'Neill has been in management regularly over the last 10 years whilst Kenny has spent the majority of that time on the golf course and upstairs. The game changed a lot in that time, (tactically, players became more powerful and the media are the main changes)

O'Neill adapted to an extent because he remained in the business, Kenny didn't and that can be seen from his tactics and results.

Where as MONs tactics and results are clearly in line with modern standards? :pac: Hoofball like MON plays now a days isn't any different to hoof ball played in the olden days.

Ah Jesus. I think I could take any disappointment that comes with support LFC but Martin O' Neill as manager would be too much for me.

I don't think Kenny is the man to bring us glory but I'd rather he stay in charge if we can't attract anyone decent atm. Pointless getting rid of him and replacing him with an unproven manager.

I don't think hes a great manager for ye by any means i just think he'd be an improvement on KD, that's all.

Bottom line is MON would be rubbish for Liverpool. He'd sign more crap and send us even further down the line. MON is just above the level of Hogdson.

If Kenny is going. Rafa or AVB are the only options that I would accept.

AVB couldn't get our team playing his fluid style of football properly, it was a disaster. You really think he'd get Carroll, Downing, Henderson, Adam, Gerrard, Enrique etc. playing that style?

ye would need around 10 new signing and around £150m for AVB to have a chance of doing anything with ye.

If he had us lingering outside the CL places when we should have been challenging for the title he could well have Pool flirting with relegation considering the players ye have and the style he tries to implement.

The second paragraph describes what the media should do rather than what they actually do. The fan base watch the games and ask the questions themselves. What tangible insight or value is being added by the media? I really need examples tbh.

Today sums up the media landscape for me. "Showdown" talks me hole.

I'm looking for a little insight from the manager tbh not petulant, snide responses to simple questions like we've seen all season.

Are you disappointed with that defeat?
Are you happy with that win?
    Is this vital game important?
Do you think the man of the match played well?

How do you provide insight to that?

People are annoyed that he doesn't play the game? What insight is offered by those who do? Are Ferguson's interviews interesting?

Actually one post where you make a bit of sense. There is no denying AVB is a good manager, but to implement his way we would need 5 years and a heavy dose of investment.

We simply do not have the players to consider him. We need a Rafa type, someone who can make us solid and build from where we are at presently.

AVB is a class manager as seen with Porto. It just didn't work work for him with Chelsea like countless other managers. He's well clued up around European football too. So I'd see him making a few astute signings that would improve us big time. After all if we could sign 4-5 proper players that would improve us massively.

If MON came here I'd see a similar story to what happened with Roy Hodgson. In fact I'm sure most of us would rather Martinez.

I still support Kenny though and feel he should be given another season to see can he turn this around, but if Kenny was to go.

    Rafa> AVB > Martinez

I really wish this whole situation with Dalglish is sorted out one way or another. Either the owners come out and publicly back him or move him on. The sooner the better so we can move on with Dalglish as manager and bring in some new signings or start looking for a new manager.

So, Belhanda....Do we have a chance of signing him?

No. He's left football for a career as an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas. Only to discover he's got a terminal illness. And he's gay and is about to marry Louis Walsh. All according to Twitter.

    So it must be true.

There were only 3 first team signing at Chelsea during his reign. Mata, Cahill, and Meireles. The other 9 were all 20 or under and a fair chunk of them went out on loans nearly straight away afaik.

Of the 9, a few look to be potential gems like the Belgian trio of Lukaku, Courtois, and De Bruyne.

Piazon, and Romeu look to have stacks of potential as well as most likely having a good resale value, plus they got Bamford for 1.5m.

They got all 12 players for close to what we paid for 3 english players and I would bet that if they sold all 12 in the morning they would get far more for them than if we sold our three.

    Belgian trio were club signings.

    Piazon was bought before AVB.

Bamford I'd imagine a club signing but I don't know for sure.

    Romeu was definitely AVB.

From what I can tell your right though, AVB seems to have a very good knowledge of young players in Europe.

I will be raging if Liverpool sign AVB. He's going to be an amazing manager imo, and I'll desperately want any team he goes to to do well. Fortunately it looks like that team will be Roma, he was linked with them and Valencia and somebody from Valencia said that when they contacted him he said he already had a deal with another club. In a perfect world that club would be Chelsea.
