Reading "Classic videogames hardware" at the moment (Kindle edition obviously) and its a decent read. Delivers a nice bit of background to the various consoles over the years.

English author, so a slight European bias and details the various (mostly) UK home computers and has nice chapter on the Konix Multi System among others.

So, anyone else got some reading recommendations of console & gaming ?

All the issues of gamespite.net and scroll.vg. You can still get them from blurb.

Racing the beam is another amazing read. It will teach you everything about the atari 2600.

Whatever book you select, be sure to play MGS4, that way you get plenty of time to get through the tome during the cutscenes!

I was expecting something about C64 loading times, but swipes at all things Hideo Kojima seems so hot right now for some reason.
