Not a hope without Xavi and Iniesta. :)

You seem to forget that we beat United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea this season. What has let us down is the ability to put the poorer teams away. One quality attacking player could make all the difference for us next season.

You can't honestly believe that one player is going to lift Liverpool to a title challenge.
No, but that with Lucas back, Gerrard fit and Suarez/Carroll playing together, I think top 4 is a realistic target.

Where would Kenny play him though?

Stick him in goal and unleash the DONI

In my humble opinion, we need to stop referring to Gerrard as an automatic starter. I think the attitude we have to have regarding him is a few cameos from the sub bench.

From what I can see, we are really only 1 key player away from making a title challenge.

Or the manager could find the way to get the best out of him

Absolutely, but I think his injury record will be a serious concern. Obviously, on his day he can be devastating but those days are nearing to a close as he gets older.

If he's fit and flying, great. But if he's injured, its not a huge concern.

I think it's fair to say we shouldn't be relying on him as a first-team player, that's for sure. 4 competitions next season as well, with an early start in the Europa.

Gerrard will never play a niggle/strain/injury free season, why would he start now? The club has to start planning for life without him.

Gerrard made 12 starts in the league this season and only 20 last season so thats what he started 42% of league games over two seasons, so I agree no way should we rely on him or else we will end up like this season and short of players in midfield for most of the campaign.

I genuinely don't believe we are that far away from the CL places, I think both Manchester clubs are comfortable at 1 and 2 for now but in regards to Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham they are not ahead of us by anything that isn't bridgable and we were certainly in touching distance until we gave up in February.

It's not like the competition was stiff but tbf he played really well this season - himself and Agger compliment each other very well as a partnership

He was named the club player of the year before the Chelsea game and Henderson won the Golden Samba as club young player of the year.

Fan on twitter says he met Kenny at the airport on his way to the states a couple of hours ago. Seems genuine enough, posted a picture of himself and Kenny.

I reckon it was just a simple mix up. Someone must have heard that KK might be at the game, and people thought that it meant King Kenny.

Right autocratical title but wrong second K :D

Geoff Shreeves must have been taking the photo judging by Kennys less than enthusiastic appearance.
