Looked at Rafa's twitter as someone mentioned it, scanned down and picked one article link out to take a look at, scanned it and saw the last question.

Q: Is it better not to go back to a place where you have had a good time?
A: I don’t agree that second time round is not a good thing. If the circumstances are favourable you can go back because experience means you make fewer mistakes. The most important thing is to maintain your ambition.

    :pac:

Bloody web store unavailable - bloody typical - I'm reminded of the story of tourists in anfield who come to tour the stadium after the 2005 CL final only to find the shop shut and nowhere to spend there money, surely they could have anticipated the demand on their servers?

I guess Kuyt not having any part in the kit photo shoot/launch means it looks more likely he'll be leaving?

In fairness there will be thousands of people all over the world trying to get on their site, it will get back to normal over time.

As for the shop being shut......maybe they were out celebrating!

Of course they did, but no point investing and putting in triple the number for a once every couple of years event.

    Definitely....Kenny wasn't there with a jacket either.

Didn't see any of Agger, Johnston, Carragher, Lucas, Adam Spearing, Downing!

Going to be an interesting summer

It'll be a three times a year event from herein seeing as there's three Kits with each getting their own launch and changing at the end of each season:D

I think this kit launch generated more interest as there's a new manufacturer of their kit.

He most likely refused to model it unless they sewed a giant S onto the front.

I like the look of it tbh, would have preferred the sponsor and warrior logo in white but ah well, once it has a nice material and fits decently then can't complain. Hope they don't undo all the positive feedback by bringing out a horrendous (purple) 3rd strip now.

Looking forward to ordering mine, worth staying up past my bedtime to get an early look at it :)

Did United try to make and sell their own shirts at some point but reverted back to the model we are using whereby someone sells them and pays you a set fee?

Wonder how much warrior will make and how many jerseys they will sell?

Hard to know but I'm sure they'll do well.

Think also it's possible that Warrior are using Liverpool to break into new segments and markets and that's why they probably offered more. Hoping that a new high profile kit would lead to more deals with other clubs and more customers, so even if they lose out on paper on the LFC deal they will gain in the long run.

Nice kit, nice sponsorship money....win/win on off the field matters.......which is nice..

I'd wouldn't be surprised if Warrior are making a loss on this deal when looked at directly in terms of shirt deals. Creating brand awareness in new markets will be the huge knock on benefit for them.

He's on record saying continued investment is necessary.

Also while he did well bringing in quite a few excellent players cheap, we were a Champions League team at the time. Much more attractive to these players.
Continued investment means you don't stand still and you should always be looking at the market and players ready to improve, it doesn't mean he was looking for millions. He wanted to know his budget and know exactly what he had to work with so he could approach players early. He also talked about investing in youth and that financially we couldn't compete with Chelsea, United and City and we had to be cleverer than them, these wouldn't be the quotes of a chequebook manager.

Think back to the time he had a row with Hicks and Gillett in late 2007 because they didn't want to know about the upcoming January window and were trying to bring in Klinsmann as manager, Rafa went into an interview and basically answered "As always I am focused on training and coaching my team" to every question. Rafa knew they didn't have a clue about running a football club and they thought that you spend money every couple of years but the truth is a team needs continued investment and needs to constantly looked at and improved where possible.

You think the cheap players bought by Rafa only came for CL football? We are Liverpool not Spurs or Everton ffs. They all came from smallish clubs like Deportivo, Villarreal, Real Sociedad etc

Rafa is a top class manager and any club would be lucky to have him plus he genuinely loves this club and city. If we are to change manager I do think he'd be close to the top of the list. The danger is to not sack Dalglish and then end up with average managers who don't care about the club and only want Liverpool on their CV's ala Hodgson or O'Neill etc.
