Timing belt is way overdue for a change. I think (based on reg no) that car is an import. Be very suspicious of clutch issue too.

    Not your ornery onager

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,451 ✭✭✭CharlieCroker

Ya, I'd be steering clear. While it's a nice spec, that timingbelt is waiting to snap (10k overdue) and no test make it effectively worthless. You could quite easily spend the asking price and more in order to get it properly on the road.

Keep looking, with Alfa's the cheapest is usually cheapest for a good reason.

Its not driving either. Says it needs clutch bleed. FIx on spot or take away on a trailer. Eff that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 104 ✭✭pcbscott

Wont be thinking about that any longer... only picked it out as like mentioned its cheap and has high spec..

Probably wouldnt be going the alfa route anyway... probably going the estate route, either V70 or BMW touring / Merc...

This could (and I stress could) be a bargain for somebody if it doesn't take much to pass NCT

Owner says the cliche though: "ready for NCT". So it could be $hite too!

    2003 Mondeo, fsh, only 800euro

4 lady owners, so you should budget in a new clutch :pac:

    I'm sorry

Low mileage 02 Maxima with fresh NCT, no leather though and 'tis manual. NCT until Feb 2013, asking €999

I really like this model Celica :)

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3319915

    Full-11478701.jpeg

The GT ones have lots going for them, guts of 170bhp and no super strut suspension. No air con in that one but it has a sun roof.

Tested until Feb 2013, passenger door looks a shade out but might be the pic, not a huge issue on a motor with an asking price of €650, I'd happily drive that :)

They're one of those cars for me that hasn't dated very much at all! A sweet car for the money, pity about the textbook horrid Toyota interior.

Looks a bit overwheeled but NCT for a full 12 months and the 6 months tax would take the sting out of the deal a tad .....

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3326250

    Full-11511767.jpeg

You'd surely get the guts of €750 ish for it in October

That's right, they looked dated already when they first came out. They still look (very) dated now :pac:

That's a bargain though. Big comfy reliable barge and a bit more refinement from the V6 compared to other big 2l petrol cars

Suitable for breaking , don't let it break the bank for you

Think this car has seen better days!:)

Guess it is worth a punt! You could enjoy the Summer wafting about in a bit of luxury. Wheels will get you a lot of attention.

if i could promise myself i wouldn't drink for the summer i'd buy that and drive around in it.

    Alas, that won't be happening.

@RJ - agreed. The earlier 9-3 looks a lot like the later 900. Saabs have never won any beauty contests, but those two are arguably the worst of the lot

Funny that the later 9-3 was made to look like a smaller, slightly fresher 9-5

Have been driving a 93 for last 2 years. Indestructible! MPG 38 ! Not too bad.
You either like them or hate them. IMO, comfortable, powerful and reliable.
Don't overlook one if it comes with service history and a decent price.

Quite sure this car was owned up to very recently (maybe still) by Fordes Funeral Home in Cork. If so it is utterly immaculate.

Lots of tax (€600 worth), but i suspect it is taxed as a limo.

It certainly looks in good order. Could be a nice buy!

That ford is the great find. Even for full price, you can't go wrong if you are looking for cheap motoring. 2.0 engine won't be as gutless as 1.6 too!

Lexus LS430 €1800, NCT until end of month, luxury motoring, could do with more photos particularly interior but description says immaculate.

Fab car for money . Nct expires in May 2013 . Mileage must be incorrect at 11800! Surely it should be 118,000?:)

Belt just done, low mileage, auto.
    Only 3 months test.

    User Cp.

    > Follow the left hand collumn down until you see "Edit Options"

    Click that.

Under Messaging and Notification you'll see a heading

    Default Thread Subscription Mode

Change that from "Do not follow" to "No email notification".

That way every thread you post in, you'll be subscribed to, and if someone posts and you it'll come up in your User Cp.

EDIT: LM beat me to it.
