He's eligible, can't imagine him not being selected if he makes himself available for it.

I doubt Evans will be going since he over 21, only allowed 3 over the age of 21.

So its looking like we are in fact getting a new left back, Ferguson has confirmed that Fryers and Fabio will be loaned out next season.

Hopefully it's a starter and not a back-up for Patrice ''Defending? Not my job'' Evra.

I know, but what I am saying to you is that is what someone else has said, you are agreeing with it, I was looking for actual reasons why you thought that, examples, instances, matches etc. not just that thats how you feel, sure I knew that :)

    Its ok, doesnt matter.

Actually the quote I refered to agreed with me in my original post re- Nani...there is plenty of occassions where Nani took the wrong option, v City on Monday where he shot miles over with players better placed is one of the top of my head. I'll say it again he has great skill, no question, but doesn't use it properly imo.

Of course there is. For absolutely every-player in the world. He just thinks, and I agree, that you are being very harsh on one of the best players at our club, our Players' Player of the Year last season, and I honestly feel that your opinion that he picks the wrong option too much is a few years out of date. He is consistently in the top 5 of wingers in the league in terms of stats, despite playing less games than most of his rivals. I dont know what you expect from him really, his numbers directly contradict your views.

I have great confidence in the squad we currently have, but as was proven this year with all of the injuries. A big club who play as many games as Manchester United does in a season can never have too much depth. I think Martinez would be a great addition to a great team. Lets see what the summer brings, how the young players develop and that the injured players can find their top form when they return. This year isn´t over yet maybe Newcastle will do us a favour. Last year we didn't have any good holding midfielder, people where crying out loud for carricks head. This year however carrick has clearly been one of our best players, almost all of u agree about that. Still u want to replace him? Isn't that a bit Silly? When we clearly needs a Lb and someone to replace scholes ( kagawa). Yes i would love to have martinez, however i am far from convinced that he would bench carrick today

Nice to see Cisse getting warmed up for City with a peach of a goal tonight.

    Squad Depth:

    GK:
    De Gea
    Lindegaard
    Amos

    RB:
    Rafael
Jones/Smalling can do a job too

    CB:
    Evans
    Rio
    Smalling
    Jones
    Vidic

    LB:
    Evra

    Wingers:
    Young
    Nani
    Valencia
    Park

    CM:
    Carrick
    Pogba?
    Cleverley
    Anderson

    Strikers:
    Rooney
    Chico
    Welbeck

    Retired:
    Scholes
    Giggs

    Sold:
    Owen
    Berbatov
    Pogba?

    Loaned:
    Fabio
    Fryers
    Pogba?
    Will Keane?
    Petrucci? etc.

The likes of Macheda, Bebe will probably be sold on too.

I like our depth everywhere bar at LB, Center Midfield and up front.

With Hazard likely to be off to City I think we should be putting a bid in for Sahin and Higuain if the reports in Madrid are correct.

Didn't we play Evans at LB at one point?

Against Chelsea IIRC and he pulled some skillz out of his locker that day too!

I'd like to see him pass to players in better positions more often, he's actually a good crosser of the ball, rather than trying shots from stupid angles. For every one that goes in ten go into the crowd, and no I dont have stats to back it up and Im probably exaggerating. As for a few years out of date, I don't think so, he still does it far too often imo.

Looking at newcastle tonight I have to say I think Mancini is right we are in a slightly better position because I for one would not be confident of United beating Newcastle away at all so I wouldnt trade places with city

Without context, that stat looks good.

    With context, its virtually meaningless.

He has played very little, so the few goals scored skew that.

It's not just a few goals though. As Mikey said, it's 12 goals. You can't just dismiss a return like that and it's definitely a large enough number to start comparing goals/minute.

Modric's goal tonight will add another couple of million to his price

Can't remember the exact quote but if you are hopeful of Man Utd signing anyone from Real Madrid while SAF is at the helm, forget about it.

Has played left back for Northern Ireland a fair bit iirc

    The quote?

Do you mean the one from Fergie where he said we "wouldn't sell that crowd a virus" before agreeing to sell Ronaldo to them? :D

I didn't see it, what happened?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,984 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Mikel elbowed him in the head ( in revenge for a similar incident ), fell badly to the ground.

Been down for eight minutes, about to be stretchered off.

Adem Ljajic having a scrap with his manager. Remember when we became irrelevant as a football club because we sold him?

Ah ffs, thats some blow for the weekend. Hopefully its just a precaution and he is just a bit groggy, as long as there is no concussion he will play I'd say, he is a strong lad. Barring something serious.
