I just hope their concern spreads to Carragher.

The loan thing for Coates has come from Duncan Jenkins.

#lfc are considering loaning out sebastian coats next season, they are concerned about him. i think he has looked good tbh honest mates.

I guess Kenny/Clarke see him in training every day so they know more but I let out a huge sigh when reading it.

    this actually worries me.

Coates has settled on a personal level in Liverpool. He has Suarez, Enrique, Maxi, Lucas...they all seem to hang out so to speak.

The one thing about going on loan that not many factor in is the reality of the thing.

Imagine your work telling you you were moving for one year only to the far side of the country. Would involve moving his missus, finding a new place, settling in that new place, building new bonds etc.

Unless his loan is back to Nacional as part of the link i believe was made, this could be detrimental to his lfc future.

Yeah a bit shocked by it myself, he has looked decent anytime I have seen him even though he has made the odd mistake. My one criticism is his lack of following in after shots, which cost us goals in two games but I would rather see him get some game time for Liverpool ahead of Carra next season.

    Who's Duncan Jenkins?

99.5% of all the speculation around football teams is utter horse**** and 90% of what's left has a grain of truth but doesn't come to pass anyway.

A safe bet is to ignore literally everything unless it's from the club directly.

If Coates isn't loaned to a Prem team or a Championship contender then I'll have lost alot of faith.

True, we can't see him training every day but he's been impressive imo when he's played for us.

Jenkins posts every liverpool lineup 100% correctly 30 mins before it officially announced.

Guy who has called the starting team bang on for every game this season about an hour before being officially released. Gave other bits of info like I think the Comolli news before it was public. Safe to say he has some sort of connection which seems to get decent info but of course as with all these things should still be taken with a pinch of salt.

Edit - Even some of the more respected Journo's refer to him as a decent source.

I am saying that when Carroll is 26, I would expect him to have a similar goals ratio to what Dzeko has in the PL in his two seasons to date (2 goals last season from January to end of season and 13 this season). I am not comparing his goals ratio from the Bundesliga. This is in one of the best attacking teams in the league surrounded by players like Aguero, Nasri, Silva, Toure etc.

I think Carroll gets a bit too much stick some times and is made out to be the route cause of our problems when we have average players like Kuyt, Maxi, Spearing etc. in the team each week.

So we spent 35m on a "striker" who might get goals on a regular basis 3 and a half to 4 years after we bought him?

On what evidence do you think that a 26 year old Carroll might be as good as a 26 year old Dzeko?

I would have been looking at how good Dzeko was at 21, at 22, at 23 etc in one of the better leagues in Europe and the potential he was showing on a regular basis against top goals, not to mention the goals he was getting week in week out at 21 at 22, at 23 etc,. in order to see how good he might become at 26

Carroll at 21, at 22, at 23 has not looked anything like the player Dzeko was at those ages so why would he be expected to be as good at 26 as Dzeko is at 26? Carroll's progress to date is a hint as to how he will turn out, just as Dzeko aged 23 was a hint to how he would turn out.

I really don't see anything in Carroll to suggest that he is on course to be as good at 26 as Dzeko is at 26 seeing as Carroll to date has been vastly inferior to what Dzeko was at Carroll's current age and younger.

I really don't think that by the time Carroll is 26 that he will be pointing to a similar goals to game ratio in the EPL to what Dzeko will have in the EPL by the time this season ends. Carroll's goals to games ratio in the EPL is awful save for his half season spell at Newcastle where he got 11 league goals. He has managed 6 league goals from 39 league games since he left Newcastle. I cannot see him ever being more than maybe a 10 or 12 league goals a season man at Liverpool, and that is being optimistic about the guy. He may well doa lot better at a club that decides to build around him like Newcastle once did, but at any club where he is expected to do his fair share of play in terms of positioning, clever play of his own, and score I think he will fail.

He has just struck me more and more as the season went on as quite a dumb player in terms of positioning, reading the play of teammates, and figuring out defenders. He has been trying harder of late but trying hard should be the bare minimum expected and not something worthy of high praise imho. I think he has been so shyte at times this season that any improvement looks like a lot, and that the club bought a very limited player whose short burst of good form folled a lot of people, myself included, into thinking that there was a lot more to Andy Carroll in terms of right now ability and potential than there actually is.

What I have seen in him this season is a 35 million pound replacement for David N'Gog because he has been as effective in front of goal this season as David N'gog was for Liverpool last season and the season before at the ages of 21 and 22, given that N'Gog scored 8 goals in all comps in each of those seasons. I have a horrible feeling that if we had kept N'Gog and played him as much as Carroll has been played this season that N'Gog could also have the mighty total of 4 league goals by now.

I hope that you end up being the person that is right though and that Andy Carroll at 26 can actually score goals on a regular basis and match Dzeko at 26 in the EPL but I really don't think he will as I don't think he will ever be half as talented as Dzeko at any age.

If Coates goes on loan next season and Carragher is still taking up space on the bench, then Kenny can go and fcuk himself.

I see your point but he better run that by Carra first.

Guardiola wants a break from football.
We haven't played any football in months.

You can see where this is going. Match made in heaven.

This is the sort of blatant disrespect that gets right on my tits.

    1) Kenny has already shown he has no issue dropping Carra.
    2) Can Kenny go '**** himself' regardless of how we fare in the league? Example; if Coates goes on loan & we come 4th, can Kenny still go '**** himself'?

Question stuff all you want. I'd be staunchly against the loaning of Coates but a bit of respect should be shown to our clubs greatest ever servant. Instead he gets abuse based on some random ****er on Twitter saying the club might be considering loaning out a player. Incredible.

This is a record of Agger's injuries that i found.

    From 26.02.2012 till 07.04.2012 - Fractured Rib
    From 18.09.2011 till 15.10.2011 - Fractured Rib
    From 02.04.2011 till 12.06.2011 - Knee injury
    From 19.10.2010 till 01.01.2011 - Calf Problems
    From 22.08.2009 till 24.10.2009 - back trouble
    From 10.01.2009 till 01.02.2009 - Cals Sclerosis
    From 02.03.2008 till 01.06.2008 - Metatarsal fracture
    From 12.09.2007 till 02.03.2008 - Metatarsal fracture

He is also going to the Euro's, maybe Denmark won't get far but it is quite a few weeks extra training and then games. It also looks like we will be starting a Europa league qualifying early(and then including however many Europa League games we have play for the season(which is 21 games from 1st qualifier to final)). Next season, i don't want Carra getting a long run in the team to cover as the 3rd CB.

I heard that maybe it would be a loan and but Centre-Back is one of the few positions that i feel comfortable with on the team. If we loan out Coates, we'd have to be bringing a good quality experienced CB to replace him. I'd much rather see that money go to more urgent departments in our team that need addressing.

Aside, i really hope there is not some other underlying reason behind him not staying.

Saying all that, it is probably all poppycock.

Edit- Also Martin is due for an injury after such a prolonged run, touch wood and steel that is skull was undoubtedly crafted from.

    Has he really though?

He shunted Agger to left back in the cup semi final to, ridiculously imo, accommodate Carragher in the side and it was a decision that nearly cost Liverpool big time.

If he is planning on keeping Carragher next season and sending Coates out on loan then he should be rightly lambasted for it as it would be utter stupidity.

Yes he has. Skrtel & Agger have been first choice throughout the season regardless of Carra's fitness. Carra himself has come out and says he knows he's not first choice anymore.

The cup semi final was an exception rather than the rule this season due to a very particular set of circumstances covered in this & the match thread at the time (Enrique's form, Jones in goal who's poor coming for crosses) & that decision was vindicated that day.

That is in spite of Carragher's inclusion, not because of it.
