How to transplant trees in the wild

Can anyone tell me how and when to transplant young sycamores and horse chestnuts trees? I have seen loads of them lately growing underneath old trees, and I would love to move them to a different area that I want them to grow. The small trees are about 2 to 3 feet high. TIA:)

ditto, they would only dry up and blow away now that they have bud burst.

The optimum time for transplant is from November till the end of Feburary, as roots can start to grow from the end of Feburary onwards.
