Dublin area ? also who was the supplier ?
    Thanks

    Not the Dublin area.

Just get out the yellow pages and look up local suppliers. ROADSTONE being a nationwide company will give you an idea of price (I didn't buy from them BTW).

After ringing a Dublin depot or Dublin company why not ring some from outside Dublin to compare prices.

All you need to do is ring up and say "Can you give me a price for Concrete (25 Newton strength for foundations) per m3? " and they will tell you, that's all there is to it.

If you can get a company recomended by a friend, family member or work colleague all the better.
    Ask around.

Foundations should probably be higher strength, 30-35N. I get the impression it's more about quality than absolute strength.

Cost in Roadstone in Mayo are:
    25N 75 Euro
    30N 78 Euro
    35N 81 Euro

Be aware that if you are gettign less than a full load that you will have to pay an extra charge.

Its been 4 years now since anyone posted in this thread and I just wanted to know if there was much of a difference in the price of concrete these days per m3.

Also what Netwons would I need. Im putting down a base which I will be putting my mobile crane up on?

30n cost me €77 per m3 recently from Rhyne Rock in Longford.
I believe in the North West that Roadstone have significantly dropped their prices in the last month and can supply the above for €70.

Not yet but I'll be after a load of cement (concrete) soon. Till reading this I had no idea what to expect for prices. It would be handy to get this thread going again for more recent prices! :D

Just wondering tho, what does 35n mean exactly?
What **n would be needed for general car parking and stuff?
And does M3 mean Meters Cubed?
What area in Meters Squared would a M3 cover?

    Sorry for being thick!

Think you mean a load of Concrete - not cement!

35N means the concrete's compressive strength of 35N/mm2 @ 28 days old. This is on the target strength measured by crushing a concrete cube sample taken when the concrete is batched / poured @28 days.

Yes, M3 means metres cubed. The square meterage coverage depends on the depth you intend to pour it at. e.g. at 100mm deep, 1m3 will cover 10m2.

For a standard driveway / carparking, a 25N mix should be sufficient but I would recommend at least 100mm deep of concrete (light traffic only!). Also, 1 layer of A142 reinforcing mesh should be placed to prevent cracking of the concete.

Living in Carlow and need 2.5 cubic metres for a base of a dog run, 15 Newton probably do as absolutely no weight on it.

Just wondering where you got that quote and do you know who might do deliveries of only 2.5m^3

I got 2.5 cubic metres on Monday delivered to my house in the Carlow area for €200, so roughly €80 a cubic metre!
