Router won't set a WEP code

    Hi

    I have reasonable experience with computer etc but I need some help with my router. Lately it won't set a WEP security key. When I log onto the 192.168.2.1 bit and set a WEP code the whole thing happens as normal. Then the network is secured. But within 30 seconds the network become unsercured again. Any suggestions that don't involve buying a new router?

    Full reset of the router, install latest firmware.

    Also, unless you're using legacy kit that absolutely requires WEP; you really should move to WPA/WPA2.

    WEP is very weak protection nowadays you would be better off considering one of the other options that your router offers

    As above,also change the default password (and username,if possible) !
    Don't broadcast your SSID as the maker of the router !
