    This just arrived this morning,
The Hori Compact Controller for PlayStation.
It's very nice, sort throw stick, buttons are smaller than arcade typical but feel very nice.
But now I have my Namco stick this is a little superfluous so may sell it on, not sure.
Here is a pic, mines not blue it's clear...

Will probably even end up ordering that myself at some stage.

Decided to order this one last night, and today the seller sent me a high res photograph of the package, with my name and and address on it!

    Now that's service!

Real men like megaman and Jessie Ventura don't have time to duck.

Won copies of Gameboy Gallery and Game&Watch Gallery vol.2 on ebay for less than 9 shipped. Happy with that.

One thing you can say about Darkwing Duck, is that is most defintely isn't a run and gun.

Got a cool JAMMA harness cover today. Will make life a lot easier on the harness with this thing in place. :)

    Cover?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Yep. It's a flush fit, screw-down cover that fits over the JAMMA connector and the wiring to the pins. Best part is, it has grips on top and bottom to allow you to put less stress on the naked connector and it only cost me £5 delivered. :)

EDIT: Here is one on eBay, although this is the exact same item, these lads are adding the harness too. I just bought the cover on it's own from elsewhere.

    These arrived today.

Mint condition and never opened, first run "Batman vs Predator" with cover artwork by Arthur Suydam comics(or graphic novels if you must).

Repro Vectrex overlays(bit rubbish really but I had to see for myself).
    dsc1072e.jpg

The middle overlay is the real deal.

    No probs Cheggers. :)

Yep that's the same one I bought. It's nice and solid too, not a flimsy yoke but nice thick plastic and proper fixings. I'll install it now and give it a test.

Show us a pic of it in action so to speak, is it still easy to plug a loom or PCB edge into? Struggling to see the point of the thing.

@Steve_SI: At least you've hopefully saved waveform from wasting his hard earned on those Vectrex overlays. :D

    Sorry for the late reply!

Any USB charger that has at least 1A of juice will do.

And buy a micro usb cable also, I like the idea of having it detachable so you can use the usb adapter for many other uses.

Ah, excellent. I think I may already have what I'll need.

Also, The Last Bandit? If you're reading this: you rock. Cheers for the spot. :D

Now I have a modchip. Ho ho ho.

I didn't open her up and discover this until after I'd tested the 4 games I got with it (Spot goes to Hollywood, Loaded, Athlete Kings and Sega Rally), and I only discovered it to inspect the chipset to see if modding it would be a better idea than modding my original Saturn (another circular button black PAL model 2, but the chip's not got the highest success rate with modchip installations, plus its sentimental value and all, so I'm reluctant to alter it).

    The original for comparison:

So, you own a Saturn with a free, unmentioned modchip?
    Nice!
    Is it functional?
I'm sure there'll be an insta-list of all the game you should run out and DL buy!

If I knew it was pre-chipped I've have bought it myself :D

Well it tested perfectly with the 4 new games (and Guardian Heroes & the AR4in1plus cart) before I'd opened it up and discovered it, so that means either its functional, or it is broken in someway but not frakking with the feed from the CD drive over the ribbon connectors. So its probably save to say its functional, but until I make a backup of one of my games and see if it works, its guessing.

Looks like I'm picking up a few things from a guy on adverts,

Bit.Trip.Saga for the 3DS, Tetris DX and Kirbys Dreamland for the GBC and GB respectively, all for €30, which, without postage, is the minimum Bit.Trip can be found for, looks like it could turn out to be one of those seldom seen titles for the 3DS in the future.
Still looking out for an affordable Cave Story 3D and Pacman & Galaga Dimensions, both 3DS and very hard to find at normal prices.

Cheapest I can find Pacman & Galaga Dimensions online... (€24.99)

Also, for anyone else looking for Bit.Trip.Saga. Assuming you win at the current price, plus shipping, it's about €27 all-in...

Not sure it's that good tbh, I'm just a big fan of Galaga...
The tilt controls of the new Pacman title coupled with the need to keep the 3DS steady for the 3D effect to work is oxymoronic, can only do one or the other, not both, not unless crippling migraines is your thang, so to speak.

I had a Galaga machine when I was a kid and had to part ways with it on one of our numerous family house moves

Picked up Ready To Rumble Boxing: Round 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica for Dreamcast recently.

So much nostaligia. I also have my eye on a Sonic Adventure 2 Special Japanese Collector's Edition that was released for Sonic's 10th birthday in Japan.

It'll compliment my collector's edition of Sonic Generations quite nicely :-)
