Hi there..apols in advance for pathetic query but don't have a clue about this stuff...thanks

I have a garmin 310 so when I bought it, it just had UK/Ireland maps.

I then bought city navigator Europe NT maps which says Map Update 2009 on it...yes it's old now I suppose!

I used it in France a few years ago and it worked great until I got to Paris and then it just more or less had no roads! It was very difficult and I was told at the time that the maps for Paris must be a separate file to France which I didn't add to the device....

I am going to Paris again soon and want to make sure it will work this time...what do ai do and how will I know in advance?

    thanks in advance:)

Go to Tools > Settings > Map > Map Info

I believe the latest version is Europe NT 2012.40

    Thanks for that

What I probably should have asked is:

Have I got all maps for Paris now and how do I know this in advance of going there and finding out the hard way:)

I can't use the above advice: I press the tools symbol on the device but then I don't have settings....I have system..and within system I don't have the next option either..

To see if you have full maps for Paris select ...
    > Where To
    > Browse Map (you may have to press the down arrow to see it)
    > Keep pressing the - button (top left) until you can see France/paris
    > Tap once on the center of paris so that the arrow is on it
    > Keep pressing the + button (top right) until you can see small streets and house numbers.
    > Scroll around paris

Hitting + zooms in on where the arrow is pointing, so you may have to scroll, point and zoom a few times

If you can only see the main roads, you only have the basemap which is of little value really. You can buy the Full Europe lifetime maps on amazon for about €70 if you need to .... good value and a must buy item.
