    2002 2L Diesel Avensis.

Toyota are doing an offer of a full service kit, Oil,Diesel,Air Filters and 6.5 Litres of 5w 30 Oil for around £54.

Which is great value, the oil is either esso or mobil or whatever they use but it's to their spec.

I always use Magnatec in whatever i'm driving. Magnatec is about £30-£40 for 8 litres.

So which is better Toyota Spec stuff or The Magnatec?

Once it comes back out as per service schedule there's no reason not to go with the cheaper option in this case :)

Far as I know OP, the correct grade for your car is 10W40 semi

Halfords doing 4l of magnatec for €20 or something! Dunno if they'd have the oil filter for a D-4D though, they don't do them for the 2.0 TD for some reason.

You could use Edge 0w-30 or Magnatec 10w-40.

The Book says 5w-30, my mechanic always put in 5w-30, 5w-30 is whats going into it.

The cars in the UK with me otherwise i'd just give it to my garage and let them have at it.

    Thats why i'm asking.

Correct oil for it is 6.4 ltrs of 5w-30, Toyotas own oil is graded to ACEA A1/B104 level but actually performs to A3/B3-04 standard

My opinion is to go with the Toyota spec stuff.
