Lost Key Help (04 Astra)

Hi.....So the story goes that i lost the one and only key i have for my 04 astra. I called up the garage and its costing 160 for a replacement key, ive paid the 160 and due to get the key on wednesday. Now it turns out i also have to get the car towed down to the garage (30mins away) and also pay another 140 for them to do some programming on the car to link it to the new key. I am going through the main dealership on this also.

My main question is, does anyone know if mechanics would do the programming part as a nixer or is there specialist equipment involved that only the dealer will have? Im based in wexford fo if anyone can make any recommendations im all ears as this is getting very costly.

Try ringing a few locksmiths, they might even have a callout service where they will come to you alot cheaper than having to get the car towed to a garage.
