It's called remote control, slavetothegrind. Wireless and battery powered.

No I think it`s called wireless control.

None but any control that`s not part of the main heating appliance could be considered remote whether wired or wireless.

@OP, while you are getting this sorted, have your gas pipework checked (it maybe 1/2 inch) and would be the ideal time to get it upgraded to 3/4 before the kitchen goes in, as your hi-eff band A gas boiler will need it to work correctly (most do)

Would be awful to have your condensate line in, only to find you will have to rip your kitchen apart for the gas side. Also in designing your kitchen, look into which boiler you may want in the future and make sure the cabinet is designed around this, leaving room for servicing etc. and maybe a little extra for a magnetic filter (magnaclean or the like) under the boiler.

You are correct in trying to keep the condensate line internal, where possible to avoid the chance of freezing in cold weather. If you cannot achieve a fall all the way to the termination point, there is small 24v condensate pumps on the market, remember you do not want to go in before another trap, as there will be a trap in the boiler too, and this can cause air-locking of the line.
