Hi all. Sorry to bother you all with another question. Recently topped up engine oil (2002 a6 1.9 TDI 200k miles) with oil specified in the manual. Just checked this morning after a 20 minute motorway blast while engine was still hot. Noticed bubbles on the dipstick. Waited 45 minutes checked again (engine cooled) no bubbles. Is this normal? Oil is filled up to the top of section A but not over. Any advice? Perhaps George can advise?

Haha. And before some one gets in michael jacksons monkey has nothing to do with this :)
Seriously though was reading that this can be normal enough with oil sloshing around just want to be doubly sure, being the car hypochondriac that I am :)

Are we talking about bubbles from trailer park boys?

Although seriously bubbles can indicate that the oil is lubricating correctly as its foaming. I can't remember why though. It can also mean nothing, all depends how bad it is

Quick update. Panic over. Popped into local garage/tyre centre. Had a word with the guy. He checked my levels. All good to go. Phew. Sometimes a LITTLE knowledge is a dangerous thing!
