I have a 01 A4 1.9tdi, recently noticed that it was much louder than it used to be within the car.
This noise has been there for about a week and only today noticed that if i turned to right the noise eased, by turn to the left i mean a very slight turn as in changing lane on the motorway.

Any ideas on what might be causing this noise?

If it's a clicking noise it could be a cv joint or a stone or something caught.

Not really a clicking noise, more like heavy road noise that quietens down when i ease to the right

Check your wheel nuts are all tight. After that I'd be thinking wheel bearing or CV joint.

Could be wheel bearing going bad but typically might get louder if leaned on in a bend
